In one of Charles Addams' original Addams Family comic strips for the New Yorker, we see Gomez, the family patriarch, perched by a large window in his sepulchral home, looking out the window. His children and wife are standing near him. Outside the window, an apocalyptic storm is raging. A tree has been stripped of its leaves and a home across the street appears to be blowing over. "Just the kind of day that makes you feel good to be alive!" Gomez comments.
Barry Sonnenfeld's 1991 film version of "The Addams Family" captures that outsider spirit. This iteration of the Addams Family values the gloom that most people eschew, presenting Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Houston) as horny, enthused monsters who you kind of fall in love with.
The plot of the movie is somewhat plain: a scheming a-hole finds someone who looks exactly like the long-lost Fester Addams...

A week after Barbie smashed box office expectations, Lizzo has dropped the “Bad Day” version of her soundtrack cut “Pink.”
Lizzo’s “Pink,” the movie’s opening number, already featured on the Mark Ronson-curated soundtrack, but the rapper’s darker (albeit still bubbly) version popped up amid Margot Robbie’s existential crisis in the film. The one-minute reprise of sorts wasn’t included on The Barbie Album and was otherwise unavailable before hitting streaming services Saturday.
“Hey Barbie / Why so stressed? / Can it be those irrepressible thoughts of death?...

"You can search online all you want, but it's a completely different experience from walking through the shelves and also having curation..." Take a trip through cinema history with filmmaker Wes Anderson as he browses through this Paris video store in the latest offering of the "Vidéo Club" series made by Konbini. We've posted videos of Brad Pitt and Terry Gilliam and M. Night Shyamalan already in this classic video store, now it's Anderson's turn. Wes apparently lives in Paris, but they got him to do this as a promotion for Asteroid City - which is playing now. He explains how they stole the title sequence for Asteroid City from John Sturges' Bad Day at Black Rock, and how his production designer Adam Stockhausen also worked on some of his favorite Steven Spielberg films as well. Wes is clearly a cinema nerd, he almost can't stop talking and could...

What initially started as a road rage issue on a fine day turns into a blood feud that ruins multiple lives and results in the deaths of a few. This forms the basic plot of the newest Netflix series “Beef,” created by Lee Sung Jin, where the protagonists Danny Cho (Steven Yeun) and Amy Lau (Ali Wong) are two characters whose hatred for each other constantly grows until they actually attempt to kill each other. With their entire families getting dragged into this seemingly nonsensical feud, here’s how the “beef” comes to a close between these two angry people.

The French Alps in VistaVision and Technicolor really sell this inspirational thriller. Spencer Tracy stars is the utterly ethical mountaineer, and young Robert Wagner his venal, verminous, just plain no damn good younger brother. Make that Much younger. Edward Dmytryk directs for big dimensions and strong emotions, and Paramount’s remaster makes the special effects of the mountain climb look good again. It’s a morality tale pitched at grade school level, and one of Tracy’s better late-career pictures. With Anna Kashfi as a plane crash victim deserving of rescue, and William Demarest as a French priest with a Preston Sturges accent.

As the housemates found out that Aaron Frew was removed from the house for "inappropriate behaviour", day 17 in Big Brother arrived with lots of emotion.
But little did the housemates know that this would be their last full day before four shock evictions and four new arrivals.
Read on to find out who we thought had a good day, and who let their emotions get the better of them.
Good Day
Nick Henderson
No one had an amazing day in the house, but Nick was among most of the housemates who handled the news of Aaron's exit with a mature reaction, while sticking up for Joel in the process.
Saying he was feeling "protective" of Joel, Nick was also quick to defend Aaron's character, not letting his sour end in the house rewrite his entire time on the show: "He had an amazing journey and he learned loads about himself.

Big Brother threw in the latest round of nominations in last night's highlights show, which was just bound to cause tension. And sure enough, some housemates came out of it all smelling of roses... and others came out smelling pretty bad indeed.
That's right, it's time for our daily verdict on which housemates are looking good and which might need to rethink their strategy!
Good Day
Danny Wisker
We haven't been that impressed by Danny in the past, thanks to his laddish 'banter' and the like, but are we starting to see a different side to him? Admittedly our decision to put him in the 'Good Day' category may be because of our aversion to fake showmances, given that last night he tried to end his.
We're not sure what's going on with Danny and Sarah - neither, it seems, are they. But we couldn't help but warm to Danny...

It's been another fiery day in the Big Brother house – with Jade and Nick at the centre of the storm. Because of their breach of house rules, the majority of the house lost luxury beauty items, and no-one was particularly happy about it.
Head to head challenges followed, with contestants trying to win back the products they lost. Egg-smashing, arm-wrestling and dirty pint-downing made for good viewing, but did any of the housemates actually have a good day in the house?
Read on for our daily verdict of who had a good day and who had a bad day…
Good Day
Nobody
Let's be honest, no-one had a particularly brilliant time in the house on day 12. All the housemates were forced to hand over their beauty products and had to fight to get them back.

Day 11 in Big Brother saw Adjoa Mensah leave the house in the second eviction of the series, as well as a surprise luxury timebomb twist and a potential romance brewing in the air.
But while Nick Henderson and Jade Lynch grew closer and Sarah Greenwood bickered with Cristian Mjc (again), it was hard to work out who actually had a good day in the Timebomb house.
Read on for our daily round-up of who triumphed and who fell a little flat.
Good Day
Joel Williams
As we said, no-one had a brilliant day in the house, but Joel's overall behaviour during last night's highlights made us think that he deserved the title of Good Day.
Whether he was arguing his case of becoming the prime minister, or speaking to Jack McDermott about Jade's intentions with Nick ("I think she could be leading him on"), Joel keeps his emotions in check,...

Big Brother is starting to ramp its cruelty right up now, thanks to a brilliant task on last night's show which saw the housemates screaming at the top of their lungs. Just what we want! But while some of them came out of it well, some of them really didn't.
That's right - it's time for our daily verdict on who had a good day in the house, and who might need to step up their game quickly...
Good Day
Nick Henderson
We're not-so-secret fans of Nick anyway - his dry humour is right up our street - but we think that he had a particularly good day on last night's highlights. Not only did he mix up his style (that topknot/ponytail attempt was something else) but he also made the most of a bad situation with the task.
Banished to the dreaded Hole, Nick was thrilled to discover...

Big Brother is in full swing now, with secret missions, arguments about food ("Two Eggs") and fledgling showmances. As Jack would say, what a time to be alive.
But as always, some of the housemates came out of last night's show better than others did. Yep, it's time for our daily verdict to see which of the housemates excelled in last night's highlights, and which of them might be needing to change their gameplan (fast)...
Good Day
Eileen Daly
We've been starting to like Eileen more and more recently, and if anything was going to cement that, it was last night's show. Sure, she was given a helping hand with a secret mission, but boy did she throw herself into it.
Eileen was brilliant to watch as she confused all of her fellow housemates with her sudden explosion of feelings, from desire towards Aaron to fear towards Jade and anger towards Sarah.

It was another day of tears and tantrums in the Big Brother: Timebomb house, as the aftermath of Jack McDermott and Nick Henderson's live twists were revealed on our screens.
As the series airs, we'll be continuing to highlight which of the housemates had a good - or not so good - day in the house, based on each night's highlights. So who had a great fourth day and who struggled?
Good Day
Sarah Greenwood
Sarah can't have been happy when she heard Nick reluctantly nominate her live on air, but she handled the situation maturely and sensibly.
While Adjoa cried over her nomination in the Diary Room, Sarah seemed to sense Nick's discomfort and anxiety over his decision and told him not to stress over what has happened while giving him a massive hug.
Obviously it's not clear whether this was a genuine move on Sarah's part,...

It was another explosive day in the Big Brother: Timebomb house. We had one huge decision, live nominations and a bath-turned-fight that was either deadly serious or just a bit of a joke.
So who had a great third day and who struggled?
Good Day
Jack McDermott
As Jack said last night: "It's a no brainer."
To be fair, it depends on how you look at things, really. After topping a poll in which the British public picked him as the early winner, he immediately refused the prize of a brand new BMW.
If he had accepted the car, he wouldn't have been eligible for the ultimate cash prize. So, Jack gave up the car (he'll regret that if he doesn't win), but it showed just what a nice guy he is.
Jack's decision meant it was a good day for the housemates overall, and he will definitely be safe for a while.

I'm traveling to press tour today (and my responsibilities at tour may make reviewing next week's episode difficult, as well), so don't have time to write much about "How Did We Get Here?" Assuming Zeek's medical troubles aren't a red herring for another Braverman death, this one pushed all of the season's remaining arcs forward in more or less expected ways. Zeek may need more surgery, and might not be strong enough to survive it. Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding has spoken of how she missed out on a role in Matthew Vaughn's mutant prequel X-Men: First Class.
In August it was revealed that Harding, 28, was auditioning for a part.
Many fans thought it was a made-up tabloid story or must be for a minor background cameo but 20th Century Fox didn't respond when we asked about the rumour, suggesting it was at least true.
Sarah has appeared in the two recent St Trinian's films, 2008 crime drama Bad Day and TV film Freefall. She also modelled lingerie for Ultimo. So what role might she have been playing?
Harding now reveals: "I got called back three times for X-Men but I missed out on the part to January Jones which was fine. She's a more established actress, but I was pleased to have got that far down the line."

Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding is reportedly in talks for a West End debut in the musical Chicago. Show producers apparently believe that Harding would be a perfect choice for the lead role of Roxie Hart.
"Sarah can sing, dance and looks great." A source tells the Sunday People. "Bosses reckon belonging to Girls Aloud would be the key to selling tickets."
Harding has also made a cameo in British independent film "Bad Day."
Meanwhile, U.S. talkshow host Jerry Springer is also set to to join the cast of the long-running musical show as Billy Flynn at London's Adelphi Theatre for a six-week stint this summer, Digital Spy reports.
