Every Mets fan must own this movie
Gaffer38901 July 2007
Everything from the games where Orosco and McDowell play the outfield and El Sid's first shutout (remember that amazing 108-win regular season?), to the surreal playoffs (Dykstra HR, Game 6, of course) is on this video. The full play-by-play on the Strawberry HR in Game 7, which we all remember sealed the deal, is an especially nice touch. It is basically everything you wanted to remember and see again, instead of a player-by-player, interview-heavy yearbook (sorry Doug Sisk and Danny Heap).

Special attention is given to the heart of the team (Hernandez-Carter), and maybe there could've been more on Bobby Ojeda, but the movie is over before you know it, and your memory is completely refreshed by the end.

The Greatest Film Ever Made
fritzbatton10 September 2008
awesome account of the greatest season in sports history. a must-see baseball film! containing interviews with Howard Johnson, Tim Teufel, Lenny Dykstra, Wally Backman, Bob Ojeda, Keith Hernandez, Gary Carter and several other players. their are detailed descriptions of the pranks they pulled by Howard Johnson and Roger McDowell, and reasoning by Frank Cashen and Davey Johnson as to how the squad was assembled. go back in time to when the Mets last ruled New York, just as they do now. sports fans of any teams will gain respect for how the Mets played the game and the battles they faced in earning their world title. see how this historic season unfolded, then how they beat the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox to become the champs of the sport.
