Amazing film Brutal day
hunteroats21 February 2024
"Sonny's Blues" is a captivating short film that beautifully captures the essence of James Baldwin's poignant story. The film's exploration of family dynamics, personal struggles, and the power of music to convey emotions is truly captivating. The performances are heartfelt and genuine, drawing the audience into the complex lives of the characters.

However, it's difficult to fully appreciate the film's nuances when watching it on a day as emotionally charged as 9/11. The tragic events of that day overshadowed everything else, making it hard to focus on anything unrelated. It's a testament to the film's strength that it still managed to resonate with me, even amidst the chaos and grief of that time.

In hindsight, I wish I had waited to watch "Sonny's Blues" on a different day, when I could have given it the attention and reflection it deserves. Despite the unfortunate timing, the film left a lasting impression on me, and I look forward to revisiting it in the future. So i sadly will be giving this film a one star review.
