Reportedly, the game was intended for the Amiga and ST platforms but never went into distribution.
The game was published by Domark and developed by Sculptured Software for C64, developed by Walking Circles for Spectrum, and developed by De Re Software for Atari. It was available on the Commodore C64/128 , Amstrad CPC / PCW, Atari 8-bit (800/XL/XE), MSX , Amiga 500/600 (OCS/ECS), BBC B & Master, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum (16/48K) platforms.
The game was originally intended to be released in June 1987 to coincide and tie-in with the release of the James Bond movie The Living Daylights (1987). However, the development and release of the game was delayed and it wasn't launched until September 1987.
The game featured eight playing levels.
The player is rewarded with a personal James Bond thank you from the British Prime Minister when the mission is accomplished. This type of story element had featured in the then recent Bond movie 'For Your Eyes Only' (1981) but did not feature in the actual Bond movie of 'The Living Daylights' (1987).
