2.Raven Vs. Chris Benoit - decent match, Benoit cleanly won. 8/10

3. WCW Cruiserweight Title Match: Chris Jericho Vs. Champ-Rey Mysterio Jr. - Welcome heely Jericho, best heel I've ever know in mid-card. Clean victory Huricanrana blocked and turned int Liontamer !!9/10

4. WCW TV Title Match: Rick Martel Vs. Champ-Booker T. - Booker retained in a good match 7/10

5. Scott Hall Vs. Larry Zbyszko - Dusty Rhodes is NWO, big deal :D Who cared? First average match on the card. 5.5/10

6. Buff Bagwell/Scott Norton/Konnan Vs. The Steiner Brothers/Ray Traylor - Scott on his way "Turning heel" won only by himself. Nice finisher move: screwdriver. 6.5/10

7. Kevin Nash Vs. Giant - SUXX! Nash said he never job to Giant and almost crippled him after screwed Jacknife powerbomb (Nash was totally out of shape this time) 4/10

8. Bret Hart Vs. Ric FLair - Hart's debut match in WCW and poor Flair had to job again, I'd like to see Mr. Hogan did his job, that geriatric clown. Clean victory hm, OK. 8/10

9. Lex Luger Vs. Macho Man - This should be match no.8 but hogan did Run-In and when HOGAN do RUN-in it must have been MAIN EVENT. Another boring thing. For clean victory over Savage: 6/10

Souled Out 1998 Thoughts

Souled Out 1998 was the 2nd Souled Out PPV event produced by WCW. The event took place on January 24, 1998 at the Hara Arena in Dayton Ohio. The event has an attendance of 5,486 and a buy rate of 380,000 (the 8th highest grossing PPV in WCW history). The PPV was the first PPV to be billed as joint PPV produced by WCW and the NWO. The event if also notable for the in-ring debut of Bret Hart in WCW.

9 matches were on the show with one of the most notable being Bret Hart facing Ric Flair. The feud started with Flair looking at himself as the greatest of all time much to the dislike of the Hitman which would set them up to battle here at this show. 2 of the other most important matches were Kevin Nash vs. The Giant and Randy Savage vs. Lex Luger.

The Good - Flair & Hart put out a great match that should have main evented the show honestly. Hart still had more in the tank and he and Flair put up memorable technical match. It's too bad Hart wasn't used great from this start and later. The opening Cruiserweight 6 man tag was also fun and exciting. It was a great kickoff for the event. Raven vs. Chris Benoit had a great feud that made the match really intense. The ending got a huge pop out of Benoit and Raven sold the submission really well.

The Meh - Rey Mysterio Jr. Vs. Chris Jericho could have had a way better match than what they had. I think going 8 minutes was fine but the slow pace because of Rey selling injury didn't work for these 2 stars who are not known for slow paced style wrestling. The Giant vs. Kevin Nash was kind of boring but it didn't get any worse. However that botch powerbomb did a number. I found it stupid of how commentary tried to cover it up as if Coffee, that was thrown at the Giant in the middle of the match, was what caused Giant to move in slow pain.

The Bad - Lex Luger vs. Randy Savage at the end was a waste and not interesting at all for what it had followed. The crowd didn't really care for it and neither did I. We also had an overly long stale 6 man tag match that was a snooze fest. Last the Larry Zbyszko vs. Scott Hall didn't click either after an interesting buildup focused on Larry.

Overall - I think no world title match and hyping up the next PPV did regressed the importance of this show a bit. Like Sting vs. Hogan couldn't make up for their botch match a month ago here? IDK. However the show was good for the most part with some highs and lows. Thumbs Up.
