***SPOILERS*** Able Jackson thought that he committed the perfect murder when he did in his dad private investigate Griffith Jackson and made it look like a suicide. But one thing that he overlooked was an important clue that in the end convicted him. The book on his father's desk "Paridice Lost" that his dad as he was dying wrote the name of his killer in it: His good for nothing son Able Jackson.
It was Able's wife Julia who found the book and statement in it that he did his dad in that now made her a target for Able who later tried to run her down in a hit and run accident that she unfortunately for him survives. It'a Griffith friend as well as fellow private investigate Mike Barnett who uncovers the book that incriminate Able in his father's murder and confront him with that fact.
***SPOILERS***Seeing that the jig is up and he's about to be taken into custody by Barnett Able makes a dash up the stairs for the roof of the building, instead out of the front door, to escape the long arm of justice. As Barnett was about to grab him Able knocked him out from behind and tried to make his escape back down the stairs but made a bad step thus falling to his death below some three floors down. This all ends in putting a sorry end to Able-the not so good son- as well as the crimes that he committed as well as saves the state money for having him tried for them as well as serving time, at taxpayers expense, in prison.
