Jack Bauer : [while following Fayed's handler] we got a problem
Hamri Al-Assad : What?
Jack Bauer : His heading north: the farther he gets outside the city, there's less traffic to hide in. it's going to be more difficult to track him all the way to Fayed without him seeing us
Hamri Al-Assad : What else can we do?
Jack Bauer : We need to call CTU, they can give us satellite coverage
Hamri Al-Assad : No, I said no CTU: they killed my men. They tried to kill me
Jack Bauer : That's because Fayed made them believe you were behind the bombings
Hamri Al-Assad : I will not work with my enemies
Jack Bauer : You're working with one now. You might hate this country, you might its values, but if you're serious about disarming, about bringing your organization and others to the table, then you know you have to compromise: that is your political reality
Hamri Al-Assad : What's to say they won't put me in prison once they have me?
Jack Bauer : I can't tell you they won't but right now that is our only lead to Fayed
Hamri Al-Assad : [after thinking it over] make the call

Curtis Manning : It's good to see you, I'm sorry for what you were put through, I'm glad your back
Jack Bauer : Thanks
Curtis Manning : And now you have to work with Assad. Doesn't that bother you? The man's a terrorist: responsible for hundreds maybe thousands of innocent lives in the past twenty years: does that mean anything to you?
Jack Bauer : I don't know what anything means anymore. I spent my whole life defending this country against people like Assad: now his trying to disarm his people and renounce terrorism. The playing field's changed
Jack Bauer : It doesn't change Assad's past: we have to make sure that he pays for the crimes his committed
Jack Bauer : He's our only chance at a peaceful resolution to all of this. That might not happen. Anyway, that's not our call to make
Curtis Manning : I see
Jack Bauer : What's that suppose to mean?
Curtis Manning : Nothing
