I did not get the whole

You see, the problem with this excellent short horror feature is that the two main female leads have the same face, they could be twins. So, in the end, in the final sequence, I did not know who was who....

Well done

"Echo" (2007, France, Yann Gozlan) "Echo" is a beautifully photographed film that takes us through the opening montage of a wave of mirrored buildings into a brief view of one young pregnant woman having a breakdown alone. The lead actress, Lubna Azabel, is elegant, innocently mysterious and an ultimate character of empathy. "Echo" is a very well done short film that is almost perfect in not being overly complicated. The audience can believe in the character and glimpse her mentality through such fine moments as duct taping any hole/vent in the wall and scratching holes in sheet rock thin walls to get a view at the room next door. The film is photographed so well that any minor flaws are smoothed over upon first viewing. It is vaguely reminiscent of Polanski's "Repulsion." It's well worth the viewing!

Clever, tense and mysterious all along!

Beautifully crafted, Echo tells the strange and intimate journey of a young pregnant woman (wonderful L.Azabal!)who experiences the growing presence of mysterious noises behind the walls of her room... The atmosphere, tension, and mystery of Echo are spellbinding! Pictorially stunning and supported by very powerful sound design and a delicate score, this short film received an highly deserved Grand Prix at the FantasticArts Gerardmer Festival 07. Somewhere between Polanski's Repulsion and some of David Lynch's work, Yann Gozlan second coming after his intriguing first feature "Pellis", is a cold and mental knock-out§
