Remarkable movie about the power of the human mind
lissybeck13 January 2010
The movie tells the story of a Jewish woman living in Munich in 1941, hiding in the untenanted attic (discovered and arranged by her husband, who is involved in the German resistance) to give her shelter from the rising threat of the anti-Semitic regime. As time in isolation from the society passes by the clear separation between reality and fantasy fades away...

The whole movie is set in a quite dark, honoring the cinematographical style of film noir, and an oppressive small environment that intensifies the feeling of captivity and brings the viewer to a really close experience of living in rejection by a threat from your whole surroundings. Another important factor that enhances the great emphatic power of the movie are the performances of the whole cast, especially the two main actresses that enable an extraordinary intense and close contact with the emotions of the characters. If u are interested in experimental movie (I call it experimental because of it's very subjective point of view caused and carried by the situation of isolation, that the main characters live through)this movie is a must, also for everyone who is enthused for the artistic way only a movie can tell a story.
