the angst of losing
sz_imdb20175 December 2010
The Parting Gift and its message of loss and acceptance hits home in a quirky, amplified emotional style.

The story unfolds both chronologically and in reverse, revealing the history and increasing pathos for the characters each time.

A lot happens in this 20-minute film. Many scenes and characters are involved, yet the story has a good flow. It's easy to follow and the character and emotional arcs are well-justified.

The pain of loss on so many levels, the hilarity of human foibles, the daily trouble of staying alive...this kaleidoscope of existence is entertainingly portrayed in The Parting Gift.
