The Story Of A Feline Who Isn't As Bad As One May Think After All.
And he really isn't. At first, on the surface, this cat may seem bad due to all the trouble he sometimes causes, but it's accidental and he truly means well. The titular feline, his family, and their owners, the Harrison family, move to a new neighborhood and they're the new pets, and people, in town. Before long, he soon finds himself facing off against a rival named Riff. The two take on each other in a few contests, however, the last one has Riff getting caught up in a predicament, which leads Bad Cat to come to his aid. After the rescue, Riff has an epiphany, a change of heart, and changes his ways for the better.
As always, this is yet another ABC Weekend Special I checked out on Youtube late last month and I enjoyed it. Despite never having read the book on which it's based, I'm still sure it's a great adaptation anyway. Whoever was in charge of picking out the stories to be adapted for the specials knew just how to pick them. It's one of my favorites, if not my all-time favorite, by Ruby-Spears. One of the things that makes this so great is the moral and the lesson that's involved in the end, even if it's been seen and done similarly in several, other cartoons. It proves that Bad Cat is actually an altruistic hero ironically, in spite of his name. I can't complain about anything about this special, just as great as the others I've seen so far. I just wish this, along with certain, other specials, that this had been expanded into a series. I believe it was strong enough to have potential for that. Another ABC WS that's a job well done. Recommended, as it is among the best animated material ever and is much better than some, certain animations before this, some others that arrived within the same decade as this, and after this. There needs to be more things like this that aren't mindless drivel. We need to see more things that aren't such wastes of time like they unfortunately are nowadays. Another interesting one.
