The brand new trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning has arrived, giving a first look at the latest Poohniverse installment entry that puts a horror twist on a classic children’s property.
It follows “Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who find themselves in a car wreck and soon hunted down by the vicious killing machine, Bambi.”
That’s right. There’s nothing sweet and doe-eyed about Bambi this time. See for yourself in the teaser trailer below.
Filming on Bambi: The Reckoning kicked off on January 6, 2024 in England with a planned Fall 2024 release.
Director Dan Allen (Unhinged) previews, “It’s gonna be terrifying. When people see a deer in the wild after this film they’re gonna run for the hills. This film is about the death of childhoods as much as it’s gonna ruin childhoods Expect bloodshed, tears and rabbits… and one mean killer deer.

In a recent podcast, Becky Lynch, whose real name is Rebecca Quin, spoke about all those things and showered huge praise for her husband. She commented on those who use her name to lash out at Rollins.

Cyclops is the defacto leader of the X-Men, but he has rarely received a chance to shine outside the comic book medium. However, the character is front and center of the team of mutant superheroes in X-Men ’97, a revival of the hit 90s cartoon series.
A still from X-Men ‘97
While the revival can be a vehicle to explore Cyclops’ leadership, one of his darkest choices from the comics is too unhinged for the animated series. In the comics, Cyclops opted for biological warfare during a delicate situation that led to genocide. Given the nature of Cyclops’ choice, the decision proved controversial, allowing for a reflection on his leadership.

On WWE SmackDown, things got wild when The Rock went off on a verbal rampage, taking aim at Seth Rollins and leaving everyone stunned. Fans couldn’t believe what they were hearing as Dwayne Johnson went all out, not just on the 37-year-old, but also roping in Becky Lynch and Ja Morant.

It was chaos! The Rock’s fury knew no bounds as he unleashed an unhinged song, making history on SmackDown. This wasn’t your usual wrestling drama; it had next-level intensity, and nobody was safe from The Rock’s verbal punches.

Russell Crowe has gifted the world with some of the best action flicks of all time, with all the spectacular storylines and his brilliant acting chops. But what makes his movies all the more unique and appreciable is the fact that he doesn’t back down from performing most of the stunt and fight scenes in the movies by himself — even if it means sometimes ending up injured.
Russell Crowe (@russellcrowe | X)
Just like almost every other time, Crowe decided to do some of the stunts in his 2010 film with Ridley Scott, Robin Hood, by himself as well. However, this time, he ended up with an excruciating injury from doing all the action. While he initially refused to pay much attention to it, Russell Crowe only found out about a decade later just how severe his injury was!

Russell Crowe is a beloved Oscar-winning actor with movies like "Gladiator" and "A Beautiful Mind" under his belt. But recently he's entered a different phase of his career where he appears to simply be having fun, with "Unhinged" and "The Pope's Exorcist" ranking as some of his recent credits. Now, he's got a brand-new action movie called "Land of Bad" in theaters that seems to have slipped under the radar. Nonetheless, it still managed to crack the top ten at the box office over the weekend. That's the power of Crowe and not one but two Hemsworth brothers.
Director William Eubank's "Land of Bad" pulled in $1.8 million over the weekend from just over 1,100 screens, giving it a respectable per-screen average of more than $1,600. It edged out "Mean Girls" ($1.1 million) to take the No. 10 spot. Is that enough to break even? No, not really, but for its distributor The Avenue,...

Has Russell Crowe entered into a Nic Cage phase of his career, making whatever script his agent sends him? Recent work like “Unhinged,” “The Pope’s Exorcist,” and “Poker Face” (which Crowe also writes and directs) certainly makes it look that way. “Sleeping Dogs” looks like it continues that trend, with Crowe playing a downbeat ex-cop in a mid-budget cop thriller.

I was a big fan of 2021’s Medusa, aka Medusa: Queen of Serpents, mainly down to the brilliant performance from Megan Purvis in the lead role of Carly and Sarah T.Cohen as her friend… and the fact the film was unlike anything producer Scott Jeffrey had been involved with at the time. For Medusa was a topical drama, wrapped up in the skin (pun intended) of a horror film; like the best of the genre the film was much more than skin deep (pun intended again), offering a layered tale about how women are treated in society. The film was all the more remarkable as it felt like one of the smallest productions Jeffrey and co. had put together.

Justin Quiles is learning a lesson the hard way in his new video. On Thursday, the Puerto Rican singer premiered the visual for his single “La Manzana” — which sees him getting robbed by his lover following a heist — with Rolling Stone.
The Fernando Lugo-directed cinematic video sees Quiles talking on the phone outside of a barber shop about meeting a woman he really likes and who’s willing to join him in his criminal ventures.
In the lyrics, Quiles describes his love interest — who helps him rob a jewelry store — as his “poisoned apple.

Daisy Ridley stars as a woman harboring a terrible secret in the feature film adaptation of Karen Dionne’s bestselling novel The Marsh King’s Daughter. The gripping trailer teases a little too much of the plot, so if you want to go in completely unaware of Ridley’s character’s past, don’t click play.
In addition to Daisy Ridley (the Star Wars franchise), the adaptation stars Emmy Award-winner Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline), Screen Actors Guild nominee Garrett Hedlund (Mudbound), Caren Pistorius (Unhinged), Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project), and Gil Birmingham (Yellowstone).

Michael Heimler, Charles Miller, Cliff Roberts, Robert Simonds, Adam Fogelson, John Friedberg, and Samuel J. Brown executive produced. Black Bear provided the finacing.

No wonder the writers are on strike.
Being forced to try to bring freshness to the same tired ideas over and over to get some studio work must be frustrating. I would be picketing Lionsgate (which is behind this movie) just because it’s really not easy making this kind of thing original. The latest ripoff — and it literally is because it comes from the 2015 Spanish film El Desconocido, which itself has been remade more than once in the past few years — is the Liam Neeson-starring Retribution. A better title might be Generic Neeson #9. I even looked up the title on IMDb just to make sure this was a new Neeson movie.
This is not to say that Regurgitation, er, I mean Retribution isn’t effectively made. Its director, the talented Nimród Antal (Control), does what he can to make Christopher Salmanpour’s (basically a TV procedural writer) by-the-numbers...
Being forced to try to bring freshness to the same tired ideas over and over to get some studio work must be frustrating. I would be picketing Lionsgate (which is behind this movie) just because it’s really not easy making this kind of thing original. Scripted TV series based on the Jennifer Lopez film “Hustlers” and the Mila Kunis comedy “Bad Moms” will soon be put into development as part of a new distribution agreement between STXfilms and Lionsgate, the companies announced Wednesday.
STXfilms, which released “Hustlers” from 2019 and “Bad Moms” from 2016 along with its sequel “A Bad Moms Christmas” in 2017, are just two of the 75-library titles under which Lionsgate will now handle marketing and distribution. It also means Lionsgate will theatrically domestically distribute new STXfilms releases.
The first film to be released under the new deal is “The Marsh King’s Daughter,” a thriller starring Daisy Ridley and directed by Neil Burger. Lionsgate will now jointly release the film with Roadside Attractions on October 6.

Lionsgate and STX are moving forward with a partnership that involves Lionsgate handling the domestic distribution of STX’s upcoming film slate.
Under this new deal, Lionsgate will handle marketing and distribution for future STX theatrical releases in North America. It will also distribute the company’s 75-title library across all platforms and will include the development of several scripted TV series based on popular titles from STX’s library, including “Bad Moms” and “Hustlers.”
The first motion picture under this agreement will be “The Marsh King’s Daughter.” Roadside Attractions joined the two studios to announce that the film will debut exclusively in theaters by Roadside on October 6.
“Theatrical exhibition continues to be essential to our company, and that’s especially true for movies like ‘The Marsh King’s Daughter’ and its director, Neil Burger, with whom we had such a fantastic success with ‘The Upside,'” said STX Entertainment CEO Noah Fogelson.

We've seen some incredible works of horror cinema come out this year, small indie movies that broke big at the box office like "Skinamarink" and its experimental filmmaking, or movies that received critical acclaim and crafted whole universes for themselves like "Talk to Me." Even blockbuster horror releases like "Evil Dead Rise" and "Scream VI" managed to surpass expectations and add new things to their respective longstanding franchises.
And then there are also movies that did not make that big of an impact originally but are finally finding an audience that sees how brilliant they are in their own way. Movies that become big hits on streaming. Movies like "The Pope's Exorcist," which is now streaming on Netflix.
Like many horror movies, especially many possession horror movies, "The Pope's Exorcist" is based on a true story. Unlike those other ones, however, this is actually true (no it isn't). Director Julius Avery...

Actor Russell Crowe has been known for his short tempter in the past. But his boxing film Cinderella Man had a surprising and positive effect on the actor.
Russell Crowe credited ‘Cinderella Man’ for curbing his temper Russell Crowe | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Crowe’s temper had a habit of landing him in hot water. The Gladiator star was involved in more than a few controversies in the past after losing his cool. Some of these scandals came from what could’ve been minor inconveniences, and even earned the actor a felony charge. In an interview with Australia’s Sunday Night (via E News), Crowe explained what the source of his hot temper might have been.
“I’m extremely sensitive, and that’s probably where some of my negative stuff comes from,” Crowe said. “I’m a little bit intuitive, so I know from a handshake whether somebody means me good or ill.

When you think of Mads Mikkelsen, your brain probably locks onto the captivating villains he's played on screen, be it Le Chiffre from "Casino Royale," Hannibal Lecter in "Hannibal," or even Jürgen Voller in "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." What you may not think about is Mikkelsen the dancer.
It's true: after studying at the world-famous ballet academy in Gothenburg, Sweden (aka. the Balettakademien), the Danish actor spent a decade as a professional dancer before getting into acting. He would go on to put his ballet skills to incredible use in the opening fight in "Hannibal" season 2, as well as the memorable drunken dance scene that went viral from director Thomas Vinterberg's Danish dramedy "Another Round." With his physical grace and screen charisma, it was probably inevitable somebody would have the idea to cast Mikkelsen as the protagonist in a post-"John Wick" assassin thriller (of which...

Once upon a time, Shane Black's "The Nice Guys" might have become a hit. That time, however, was not May 20-22, 2016, when the film opened in a distant fourth place behind that weekend's box office champion, "The Angry Birds Movie." Black was coming off the billion-dollar success of "Iron Man 3" when he decided to write and direct his film, an original buddy crime comedy in the same vein as his cult classic directorial debut, "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang." Even then, he probably realized it was useless resisting the once unstoppable tide of superheroes and franchises, but darn it if he wasn't going to try (much like his film's offbeat heroes do their darnedest to curb the ever-turning wheel of systematic injustice).

Hypnotic, who?
It’s unusual, to say the least, for a movie directed by the likes of Robert Rodriguez and starring Ben Affleck to barely be a blip on the radar of new movies opening the box office.
This lack of awareness helps explain why Hypnotic opened to a scant $2.4 million from 2,118 theaters over the May 14-16 weekend to mark the worst nationwide opening of any film directed by Rodriguez or starring Affleck. Hypnotic stands to lose tens of millions, after costing a reported $65 million to make, and reinforces what every savvy Hollywood studio executive knows: spending on marketing is essential.
The sci-fi action-thriller suffered several setbacks on the road to the big screen, capped by the implosion of Solstice Studios in late 2021, which had been set to market and release the film.

Also known as Unhinged, Hypnotica is the feature debut from writer/director A.T. Sharma. These events weigh heavily on junior psychiatrist, Mason (Tim Torre), who worries his sessions are not aiding his patient, Oliver (Adam Johnson). Uncertain of how else he can help, the psychiatrist turns to hypnotism to unlock his patient’s repressed memories, with each passing session uncovering more revelations which send the pair down dark paths.

Last month, we heard that the slasher Unhinged (not to be confused with the Russell Crowe thriller) was going to be getting a second remake. The film, first released in 1982, received a remake back in 2017 that was produced by Scott Jeffrey, Rebecca J. Matthews, and Louisa Warren, with Jeffrey also writing the screenplay. Jeffrey, Matthews, and Warren are also behind the new remake – and it has now been revealed that the third version of Unhinged finished filming earlier this month!
Matthew B.C. (H.P. Lovecraft’s Monster Portal) directed the new Unhinged from a screenplay by Harry Boxley (Mary Had a Little Lamb). The film follows four young women who, after a traumatic confrontation with a stalker, are forced to take refuge with an eccentric older man and his bed-bound wife; a couple who quickly showcase troubling behaviors.
Ella Starbuck (Witch), Jase Rivers (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey), and Toby Wynn-Davies (Dogged) star.

The slasher Unhinged (not to be confused with the Russell Crowe thriller) isn’t a movie you hear referenced very often, but the 1982 release definitely seems to have captured the imagination of filmmaker Scott Jeffrey and Rebecca J. Matthews. Jeffrey just wrote and, with Matthews, produced a remake of Unhinged back in 2017 – and now our friends at Bloody Disgusting have broken the news that a second remake of Unhinged is now in the works, with Jeffrey and Matthews producing again.
Directed by Don Gronquist, who wrote the screenplay with Reagan Ramsey, the 1982 version of Unhinged had the following synopsis: Three college girls on their way to a jazz festival crash their car in the isolated woods during a rainstorm and are taken in by a mysterious family in an old mansion. Little do the girls know, the family has a dark, murderous secret.

Scott Jeffrey tells Bloody Disgusting that the Unhinged remake will be a “very close remake” to the original 1982 Video Nasty, “but sprinkling in a modern setting.”
He also teases, “It will be an incredibly suspenseful and dark film with a shocking twist.”
A director is yet to be attached. Stay tuned for more as we learn it.

Plot: Tech billionaire and gambler Jake Foley (Crowe) hosts a high-stakes poker game between childhood friends, offering them the chance to win more money than they’ve ever dreamed of. The evening takes a turn when he unveils his elaborate plan seeking revenge for their betrayals and to play, they’ll have to give up the one thing they’ve spent their lives trying to keep…their secrets. As the game unfolds, thieves break in and they must band together to survive a night of terror.
Review: Russell Crowe is a movie star. There is no question about the actor’s abilities on screen whether it be in marquee dramas like A Beautiful Mind, action epics like Gladiator, or period pieces like Cinderella Man. In recent years, Crowe has performed in projects that appeal to him ranging from pulpy flicks like Unhinged or superhero fare including Man of Steel and Thor: Love and Thunder.

Part of the reason why "The Strangers" has endured as an effective horror movie is that we've all had that feeling of being home alone at night, yet it still feels like there's something else watching us from the shadows. After 85 minutes of homebound terror, the words "because you were home" make all of the preceding violence sound so hauntingly meaningless. A couple on the rocks is thrust into a harrowing night of survival for no other reason besides that their lights were on.
It wasn't until a decade later that a sequel came to theaters with "The Strangers: Prey at Night," which /Film's Chris Evangelista called a "schlocky slasher showcase." Rather than rehashing the hopelessness of Bryan Bertino's 2008 home invasion thriller, the follow-up from Johannes Roberts saw the human prey actually landing a few blows in against their stalkers, and living to see another day. I truly believe...

Ever had a bad day go from bad to worse? In today’s world, we’ve somehow accepted road rages as a norm. Many drivers agree to have expressed frustration and aggression while driving. But what happens when you’re stuck in a road rage that doesn’t seem to end? While the world stood still and stayed indoors in 2020, Unhinged became the first wide theatrical release in that year. Although the movie was met with mixed reviews from critics and got 44.3 million at the box office, viewers were left with one simple lesson from Unhinged: it can happen to anyone. The

As Bloody Disgusting recently told you, The Strangers franchise is coming back to life with a brand new trilogy of movies, and the official press release just went out this afternoon.
Lionsgate announced today it has begun production on The Strangers remake, set to be a trilogy of films being produced in Bratislava, Slovakia. Based on the original 2008 cult horror franchise of the same name, the project features rising star Madelaine Petsch (“Riverdale,” “Jane”), who drives cross-country with her longtime boyfriend to begin a new life in the Pacific Northwest. When their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, they’re forced to spend the night in a secluded Airbnb, where they are terrorized from dusk till dawn by three masked strangers.
From there, the filmmakers are expanding the story in new and unexpected ways over three films. Additional cast includes Gabe Basso (Hillbilly Elegy). Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Deep Blue Sea,...
