Great show and love the way the story unfolds and surprises with plot twists. While I don't like the way it ended, I can't wait for season 2. Hurry!

Wild ending
Calicodreamin9 July 2020
Wild in a good way, and in a bad way. Bad because it ends quite abruptly and upon further inspection doesn't make all that much sense. Good because there's some bad ass action and a fair amount of twists.

Not the perfect ending we would have hoped for
bannerworx18 July 2020
I am hoping they have the next series already filmed, and we get the rest of the story or the next chapter of it all, because that ending was just a massive anti climax to what was a gripping episode, and many unanswered questions.

Great plot twists with a Perils of Pauline ending, until the next season, one hopes

Warning: Spoilers
The ending was a pretty perfect cliff hanger after the "big reveal" plot twist. It had to be this way for the season ending because the story has been set up, the characters developed, and the good side on the ropes of defeat. But I bet there are some good ideas in the minds of the script writers to save Shotgun Mary and deal with that devil in disguise.

Wow!!! And What?!?

Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe they ended it like that! Well at least season 2 is already here. Thought Adriel was Jesus maybe he was but he ain't a good. Didn't know that by trying to save the world Ava is one of the cause of this evil being released to the world. And also Father Vincent, you sly little monkey. I can't believe he is one of the bad guys. I did not expect that he has always been like a father figure to Ava and who always keeps siding with Ava whenever everyone is hating on her. And it seems those spirits are Adriel's army. I was expecting those tarask would appear but they didn't so I assume they are not Adriel's spawn. Hoping the second season would make this end clear. The series overall was awesome.

This episode was a slow burn and tied up lose ends beautifully... to an extent! I have so many questions around the halo and where Adriel falls into this. William portrays this character so gorgeously that the danger he represents is palpable. Obviously didnt want to see Ava hurt yet intrigued to see what was to come. So glad Season 2 was out by the time I watched because I don't know how anyone was able to wait.

These women have my whole heart. Beatrice and Ava's relationship and the dynamic between Mary and Lillith has me hooked. All for Avatrice in season 2 so I am hoping it doesn't disappoint. If you have made it to the end of the season and not completely in love with big sis Mary then get back under your rock, we don't want you. The way she is able to understand and comfort in a time of great confusion (both for the audience and Lillith's character) is masterful. I'm praying that the last shot "in this life" isn't what I think!!

Vincent better be ready for what's coming to him.

Interesting and good but major plot holes
schubertseven8 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Good and kept me interested. Good characters and really good effects.

Sorry to focus on negatives, but a lot of stupid things like, "What is on the other side of the portal? We don't know, because we put our hand through, but not a camera or any form of sensor."

Loads of unrealistic decisions made that left me annoyed and frustrated.

Can be incredibly slow at times.

Worth it? Yeah. Just be prepared.

Oh yes, how is it these people can travel all over, including internationally, carrying a sword?

Did they run out of budget?
breadcrumbs-471575 July 2020
One of the worst cliffhangers iv ever witnessed. It felt like they ran out of money to continue filming, or perhaps coronavirus prevented anymore filming. Whatever the reason - that felt to me as a terrible cliffhanger, ending the series mid scene.

I hope it did come down to a production issue, and not the intended ending of season 1. It's odd to see such a high rating for the episode.

If you're looking at this rating wondering on whether to watch the show - do watch it, its a good show and hopefully by the time you read this season 2 will have released, however just be prepared to be left hanging at the end of this episode.

How this episode got an 8+ is beyond me!
korydero8 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I guess I'll make reviewer number 4. Wow, where to begin? Let's just start off with holes. Lots and lots of holes.

The episode had a stable start, but quickly began falling apart before our eyes. LITERALLY! The ladies bring the explosives just in case they needed to use them, so why didn't they use them after she had been in there for over 8 minutes?

The previouse episode, they notice the bones of the rare elements yet dont explain what exactly the reason is they were tapped there to begin with.

I feel as though they wanted to add that Adriel wasnt an angel as a last minute plot twist. They were like "dang, we should have thought of this in the beginning. Oh well, no time like the present." And then crammed it in as hard as they could with 25 minutes to go in the episode. Poor writing. Oh and let's get political why dont we. "All men do is lie." As though women are better.

The boy! If his face wasn't annoying enough, they had to give him the worst script and plot to go along with it. There's so much I could pick on with the boy, but let's just do the final scene. The boy freaks out about being in "prison" for what reason? And then obviously the mom had a massive grip on the boy, apparently the only thing that could make her let go is a pointlessly placed character saying how beautiful it was. "So beautiful, BUT DON'T GO IN THERE TO SEE JUST HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS!" Oh and there's another thing. She fallows her son to "save" him and actually makes it through before the portal closes, so why is she standing on the other side like a crying bumbling idiot? Just wow to that one!

All in all this was not a good show at all. It had major potential, but was thrown away with a pointless beginning, and a poorly put together end. Thanks for that total waste of time.

Bad ending

I was really looking forward to a great ending. Wasn't to be, very unsatisfactory. I will not be considering watching season 2 if one comes out for this reason
