Weak first episode
Kingston2614 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Aside from the shock ending, the season premiere was not up to the standard that the show has reached in the past.

The opening scene? Weak. Not funny or clever. Villanelle got married? Ok, great, would love to find out how this happened. Do we? No. She leaves her wedding reception and we don't hear from her wife again.

The rest of the episode? Boring. Uninspired. Where has the sharp humour and great writing gone?

The beauty of Killing Eve's first season was its ability to shock, humour and teach us something about the characters within one line. I could feel this lacking in Season 2, and I'm afraid it still seems to be lacking now.

Hopefully it will pick up as we move forward with the plot, but I really think the writing could do with a huge brush up. You can have lush locations and costumes, but if the writing, the blueprint of any production, is not solid, the whole building will be faulty.

Honestly, they got it back on track

Warning: Spoilers
After a disappointing end to the last season, I was strangely pessimistic, however at points this season looked like it was a return to form. This episode laid the groundwork for what could be a truly great season, mainly due to the great cast, effortlessly acting their characters. Even though Oh, and Comer get lots of the praise it is Fiona Shaw who is the MVP of the episode, and particular after that shock ending her character is set to have a great character arc over the course of the season

After the disappointing end to the last season, the first episode has set up a great story arc for Fiona Shaw, a women who now has nothing to lose. Good luck whoever killed Kenny

Slow and weird (but not in the good way)
vincent-u1614 April 2020
The show went through some changes in writers and such, it is a bit noticeable to be honest... The first episode is slow, it is shooting in all directions with no clear goal. They end the episode on a very drastic manner as if that was the only thing they could think of to keep the viewers' attention. Hope we will see some improvement for the next episodes.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is not the writer anymore... This was a weak start. Hope it gets better.

Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey
Prismark1010 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Killing Eve has returned for a third season with a new head writer. The question is how much will the Villanelle/Eve relationship move on?

Eve survived being shot and seems to be working in a restaurant. Niko though is still traumatised with what occurred with Villanelle.

Villanelle is getting married but an old friend or foe crashes the wedding. She is Dasha a former Russian gymnast turned killer and looks like she became Villanelle's mentor.

The show moved around locations but it lacked sharpness and zest. Either the episode felt stale or it was struggling to establish new stories and a new direction.

It did end with a jolt with the death of Kenny now working elsewhere but making his own investigations. It was sad to see him die, I did like his relationship with his mother Carolyn as well as Eve.

Not off to a great start

Warning: Spoilers
The fact that they killed off the funniest character (Kenny) was just horrible and the way they did it was monstrous.

awful writing, ruined an amazing show
Killing Eve was easily my favorite show probably ever. Was incredibly excited about the third season. and it's easily the biggest letdown. It's slow, writing is pedestrian at best, stories are going absolutely nowhere at a glacial pace. even color grading is off. the only reason for any stars at all are the amazing actors. They deserve better material.

What the hell is going on...

This episode is a joke: watching Jodie Comer speaking in Catalan and seeing Girona as a Moroccan city with street markets.
