One of my favourite UK distributors, ranking up there with Arrow Video and Shameless, are 88 Films. The company, whilst relatively new to the UK scene, have hit the ground running – releasing a handful of fantastic 80s horror flicks to DVD, including: Tourist Trap, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-a-Rama and The Pit and the Pendulum.
Well now the good folks at 88 Films have announced their next batch of Full Moon titles set for DVD (and also Blu-Ray, yes!) in July and August. Streeting on July 30th is The Dead Want Women and following on August 20th is the original Puppet Master movie – and not only is it being released on DVD it’s also coming on Blu-ray too!

Blood Night Blood Night takes elements of all those spooky old ghost stories, behind all those tall tales that you heard and all those outlandish urban legends and mixes into a narrative involving lots and lots and well.... lots of blood and gore, an appealing cast of young kids and a slasher story that helps to make Blood Night one darn entertaining flick. Frank Sabatella is the director behind it all in Blood Night. And the film features two horror film icons in the cast - Danielle Harris (Hatchet II) and Bill Moseley (Babysitter Wanted). Blood Night is an atmospheric, old school styled blend of ghost story and slasher. It's fun, lively and engertic; a film that you should check out. Here's what Frank Sabatella had to say about the making of Blood Night.
Frank Sabatella So who is Frank Sabatella and what are you all about?
I am a horror filmmaker from NY.

Okay, so this week we have covered the "Top Five Indie Horror Films," with an article found here: Best Indie Horror Films of 2010. Also covered was the "Top Five International Horror Films." An article on this posting is here: Top Five International Films. But, now we are exploring a more depraved side of horror, or a lower class of film. This top five list will cover the "Worst Five Horror Films of 2010!"
This year, there was so much to choose from in poor horror films. Abroad, we have the dismal Basement starring Danny Dyer and Jimi Mistry to the absolutely monstrosity of a film from Australia called Outback aka Prey starring the incapable Natalie Bassingthwaighte. Domestically, films like the Zombie Chronicles: The Infected made this reviewer want to scratch his eyes out, while others like Apocalypse of the Dead aka Zone of the Dead made one reach for the off button with lightening like reflexes.
