The military saga continues, and actually Dobie looks pretty good in unform, for a change of pace. That all said... there's still girl trouble in the horizon. Dobie hooks up with mess hall waitress Betsy (played by Diane Jergens), but she turns him down for a date --unless he can get her BFF a date. The problem is Betsy's pal doesn't have "it".

Actually, theres no choice but to call Maynard, providing he can get out of his obligations and complications? There's also a fun sidestory when Dobie is promoted to barricks inspector, and being fairly tough on the guys. Popular comedy actor Jack Mullaney plays goofy Private Strauss, in a small role that may have inspired GOMER PYLE a few years later! Watch him as he is fun.
Pretty Diane Jergens appeared in many movies, later quite popular on tv, frequently on GEORGE BURNS and BOB CUMMINGS tv shows.
