U.S. Spanish-Language streaming platform Pantaya and Spanish-language production powerhouse El Estudio have wrapped shooting on their cringey comedy co-production “Pena Ajena,” based on the Spanish Movistar Plus hit original series “Vergüenza.” The Mexican adaptation co-stars film and TV standouts Adrián Uribe and Mónica Huarte (“Tired of Kissing Frogs”).
Santiago Fábregas (“Taco Chronicles”) and Diego Graue (“El Candidato Rayo”) both co-wrote and co-directed the series’ 10 half-hour episodes, joined in the writers’ room by co-scribes Francisco González Payó (“Saving Private Pérez”) and Dariela Pérez Hernández (“The House of Flowers”).
“Good comedy is hard to find, great comedy is a diamond in the rough. Between a cast featuring Adrián and Mónica as the main couple, a great crew and creative team led by Santi Fábregas, all of them backed by Pablo Cruz and his El Estudio banner, we feel that ‘Pena Ajena’ is a crown jewel of comedy,” said Mario Almeida, Pantaya head of content.

Somehow it’s November! Any retrospective look back at 2020 is surreal, particularly given that this feels like the 9th month of March and we're speeding into another lockdown here in New York City. But I suppose the year really is almost over! So here are some of the movie and TV-related things I’m thankful for this year.
The opera-obsessed hotel clerk in The Whistlers
Taco Chronicles on Netflix, which is addictive and charming, and which has turned me into a Lady Tacos de Canasta superfan

As if September hasn’t already been filled to the brim with incredible movies and shows, Netflix is bringing even more to you today in the largest content drop since the first of the month. With a handful of documentaries, a popular children’s flick, and new seasons of some great shows, there’s something for everyone on this exciting release day.
To begin with, The Smurfs 2 lands on the platform today, ensuring that any kids in the house are certain to sit still for a few hours. Plus, although the sequel is widely considered worse than the original and holds only a 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, you may find some harmless and inoffensive fun if you grew up watching the classic show.
Elsewhere, beloved series like Ancient Aliens and Pawn Stars are getting additional seasons today, too. The former is finally having its third season added, while the latter...
