Terrible
Chuck_EM20 February 2020
This seems like it was made by a bunch of high school students taking film as a filler course.

Seriously??
nevittjason-1955315 January 2020
I watched it for free and I still feel like I am owed compensation for my wasted time but here's a free piece of advice for all of the people that were involved with this trash. Especially the actors, writers and the director. "The world needs ditch diggers to!"

Student project? Extra star for Barry
sphinx-429 December 2019
Novice script, shaky cinematography, lazy editing, echoing sound, mismatched casting, wooden acting (except for Barry who was obviously channeling Charles Manson!) with an inexplicable mix of accents (British sister to American brother?!) which occasionally lapse. Good costuming & a couple of nice locations were the only saving graces.

Stinker
anthonybriggs-194022 April 2021
Quite possibly the worst film that I have ever had the displeasure of viewing, and I have seen some real stinkers in my time. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. Avoid at all costs.

A Plot as Stale as The Bride of Frankenstein...
ulisses_phoenix2 June 2020
This film popped up on a website as one of those "if you like that, you may like this" kind of promos (with an apparently primitive algorithm). It was highly rated so I watched it. Obviously that high rating was some kind of glitch, because now (after I've wasted an hour and a half of my life watching this film) I see that the movie rating has changed to 2.3 out of ten.

I don't know why the producers decided to make this film. The plot is as old and stale as Frankenstein and this film didn't add much to that story. The acting was spotty as best; the script/dialogue was atrocious; and the cinematography seemed to be struggling just to get the technicals right on the location shots. If the filmmakers were trying to make a campy film, they missed the mark by a long shot because the score and cinematography and some of the actors were attempting to play it straight. I think these guys were actually trying to make a serious movie here and failed.

The robots (who are obviously played by people actually pretending to be robots) have voices that sound mechanical and their responses are extremely limited, which makes no sense because even with today's technology, naturally sounding synthetic voices are common with a conversational range that can fool most people within certain domains (such as an automated call screener at a customer support line.) Also, there is no motivation provided for the robots' bad behavior. Even the Frankenstein story provided an explanation for why the creature was behaving badly, but not this film.

With a plot this thin, you'd think it'd be easy to maintain consistency, but there were lots of plot holes and the ending, although it was pretty easy to figure out, didn't match up with the preceding content. It looked as though the filmmakers changed their minds about the ending at the last minute and didn't bother to re-shoot the previous material to make it line up.

The score was pretty good though (that is, if they were attempting to make a serious movie). And a few of the acting performances were done well. Crazy Barry (Peter Cosgrove) stole the film, as others have noted. He was completely over the top, yet somehow made it work. (Looking over his bio, it seems that 'crazy guy'/'wild man' is his character type.) A few of the other players had their moments, too.

All in all, this movie is definitely a waste of time and not worth watching.

Triggers: gory violence; gory peudo-cannibalism; misogyny; animal cruelty; textual content at ~200 wpm

Amateurish and obvious

Warning: Spoilers
While it was obvious that the androids were going to kill their companions, the script lacked basic nuance. The most believable character in the show was the creepy neighbor. Was the screenplay written by a first year student?

Horribly bad
casablancavic17 May 2020
The movie is just horribly bad on so many levels that it's not really worth typing out all the negative.

Whqt is worth pointing out the positive is the awesome poster - which was designed by me...and it's not even one of my best.

I enjoyed this quirky film
natcalgary17 January 2020
I understand how most people won't. But the concept and story line intrigued me. The main actor was good but all the others were terrible.

If you have an open mind and enjoy weird movies this just may be your cup of tea

This sucks. I love it.
zoomzeu4 January 2023
This movie is awful, by far one of the worst movies I've ever watched in my life. I love it. It is so funny, this movie is hilarious. If you want to watch a crappy movie, this is the movie for you. My favorite character is Barry, he breathes so heavily that you can practically smell his breath through the screen. Honestly, the only good thing about this movie is Rebecca Finch's acting, she does a pretty good job for her role in this. The rest of the actor's weren't that great though. The acting was awkward, the cuts were placed at weird times, the story was oddly formatted, overall a bad movie. A funny bad movie, Will watch again.

Fun and doesn't take itself seriously
C_LooLoo7 March 2020
This is a bizarre low budget but fun film. You can tell it doesn't take itself seriously. For example when you see the robots preassembled they have very stiff plastic mannequin-like limbs with fused fingers and toes but then assembled suddenly they're completely soft and human looking. I'm certain that was intentional. The sound quality is terrible, and the plot is ridiculous but we watched the whole thing and had some laughs and overall enjoyed it. You have to go into it realising it's cheesy, then you can enjoy it.

Twilight Zone Wackadoo
terrazygotes-3088127 January 2020
I found this film quite amusing. It was quite comically quirky and the violence was unrealistic and therefore not disturbing. The ending was a little much, but not too much more, than the rest of the film. Those, who are angrily critical of the film must have had expectations of a much more serious and realistic film. To me, this was much like an episode of the old "Twilight Zone" or "Outer Limits". Sometimes they played out "tongue in cheek".
