Since making its debut at last year’s Fantasia Film Festival, New Life has garnered a lot of attention for its first-time writer/director John Rosman and his potentially apocalyptic chase film. I missed it during its festival run, but on the eve of its American release, I got my chance to rectify that and see if it lived up to its hype.
It starts like a conventional thriller, with a bloodied woman slipping through the streets of what looks like a typical American suburb, trying to avoid being seen. She lets herself into her house and cleans herself up. She barely managed to wash and change before she sees armed men in her kitchen. She lets herself out a window and, since they apparently never learned about guarding a perimeter,...

I would have expected the new indie anthology film Beware the Boogeyman to have come out a while back, closer to the release of the widely hyped Stephen King adaptation, The Boogeyman. The inspiration is obvious, one scene even has a character holding a copy of Night Shift, the collection of King’s stories that brought it to most people’s attention. In any case, it’s out now and wants you to believe in it.
Beware the Boogeyman opens with Dr. Tristan Makenzie the newest potential addition to Silverdale Psychiatric Hospital’s staff going in for her orientation on, of all days, a Sunday. Dr. Gabey Moon meets...

In the next episode of “Murder at the Cabin,” titled “The Dinner Party,” set to air on Investigation Discovery at 10:00 Pm on Monday, October 30, 2023, viewers will be taken on a chilling journey into a nightmarish scenario.
The episode begins with a seemingly innocent teen preparing for a date. However, things take a sinister turn when a trio of individuals arrives to pick her up. Reluctantly, she agrees to go along, not realizing the terrifying ordeal that awaits her. What unfolds feels like a horrifying haunted house experience, but it’s all too real. The setting is a secluded mansion in the woods, and as the night progresses, a series of gruesome murders unfold.
Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as they witness the teen’s desperate struggle to survive this night of terror. “Murder at the Cabin” continues to deliver spine-tingling narratives, keeping audiences riveted with its suspenseful and chilling storytelling.

2023 marks a whole decade since The Office has been off the air, but in some ways, it’s impossible to tell. From nonstop reruns to Peacock’s streaming options, NBC’s The Office has seemingly never stepped out of the spotlight.
The series’ beloved characters and insatiable humor were just part of why The Office became such a success. Over the series’ nine seasons and 188 episodes, it is hard to believe that John Krasinski, one of the stars of The Office, was in every single episode, except one.

Viewers of The Office fell in love with Jim Halpert almost instantly. When the series premiered in 2005, Krasinski’s character was known for his floppy hair and, burning crush on co-worker Pam Beesly.
