- Willard Stenky: So, you would be very well acquanted with the criminal actions that have taken place here over the years?
- Judge Thatcher: Yes sir, I would say I know more than anybody, except maybe the judge here. I guess he's been mixed up with more crime than I have.
- Judge Thatcher: [there is some laughter from the public benches] I don't like the tone of that remark, Carl. I have never been involved with any crime at all. I deal out justice to those who are, is that clear?
- Constable: I beg your pardon, your honor. Didn't mean it that way.
- Willard Stenky: [during trial of Muff Potter] Now Carl, can you tell us your official capacity?
- Constable: My what?
- Willard Stenky: Your work, what you do.
- Constable: Why, I'm the town constable. You know that, Willard, everybody knows that.
- Willard Stenky: And, eh, what is your vocation?
- Mr. Carling: My what?
- Willard Stenky: You're, eh, occupation. What do you do?
- Mr. Carling: Well, you know what I do, Willard, I run Carling's General Store about ten rounds down the street from here, general merchandise, and eh, utilities, food, guns, you know.
