Not an episode I would rewatch.

Warning: Spoilers
I don't really enjoy this episode. I mean it was good, but I wouldn't it rewatch it. There's also the fact that they advertised this episode as a romance episode and that turned a lot of people off, and I'm not talking about just shippers. Go under the promo for 5x12 on YouTube and you will see causal viewers saying they aren't interested in the storyline. They could have promoted Winn or Brainy, but instead they promoted a romance storyline that wasn't even in the forefront of the episode and quite honestly isn't really needed. Basically they need to do better. I would only rewatch this to see the cliffhanger that would lead in the 100th episode, "It's a Super Life."

Also, Kelly only having like two scenes in these past few episode is annoying. And where was Nia?! I know the actors had other things, but they could have easily filmed a scene or two.

Some good things from this episode where Kara and Alex finally teaming up again, Winn getting closure with his father and the Leviathan plot moving forward finally.

So yeah, I hope they do a better job at promoting the 100th episode since it's the biggest episode ever. I'm pretty excited for it. I can't wait to see Kara see different timelines and outcomes. It seems like it be one hell of a ride.

Friends, old and new

I enjoyed the episode quite a lot. It was great to see Winn and how he finally found peace about his relationship with his father.

I'm not really feeling the Lex and Leviathan story. The leviathan isn't really established that good and there is too much Lex.

Who is delivering all he has and then some is Jesse Rath. His acting is out of this world and I liked this story line as well, it's intriguing.

Who they need to work on more is Nia and William, they both deserve better than they are getting this season. William has potential and I quite liked his introduction in the first part of the season. I really hope he will get to do more than be Kara's potential boyfriend.

Definitely looking forward to the next episode.

A good solid episode.

Good story, and keeping on the protection from the story structure. It was good to have an episode showing off the vocal talents of the cast, even if some of them aren't up to the level of Melissa Benoist and Chyler Leigh. I guess Joss Whedon broke the ice on that one with his musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. What a landmark! The interaction between the characters carries on very naturally from previous episodes. When you've got a supremely talented cast, it must be difficult for a director or writer to hold back from allowing them to exhibit those talents. That's what we have here.

Great

Regardless what haters think I really enjoyed this ep. Was great seeing the original super friends working together and Jeremy got some good scenes and make the Toy man name use for good. Always fantastic to see the Danvers sisters fight side by side.

Yea it was nice and all but the drama with William and kara is just so basic/lame and after all that she ends up rejecting him (not that I was rooting for them anyway). Also where's nia?? But it was nice having Winn around.

"Sometimes, people can surprise us"

Great episode this one!

Love all Danvers sister scenes, Winn and Toyman storyline are good. Kara and William has some cute moments. The karaoke scene in the beginning are a wonderful scene, also all Kara and Winn scenes are fantastic! The only thing that was missing was Nia, but other than that it was great!

The visions and cinematography was on point! The action is amazing. Some of the acting was sometimes a bit off, but for the most part it was fine. Although Melissa, Chyler, David, Jeremy and Henry Czerny is awesome.

Nice cliffhanger with Mxyzptlk and a exciting setup for the 100th episode.

Even though i think the previous episode was a bit stronger, this one was still great. So i give it 9.6/10

Where are the main character's stories?
cmndrlex17 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Grateful Kara didn't end up with the blank cardboard slate that is William Dey (Dude has no personality whatsoever), but to also give a synopsis stating Alex and Dansen would be getting some limelight and failing to deliver while your one trans character goes completely MIA, forcing stories to revolve around a character that's left and we've all moved on from instead of the CURRENT angsty storyline between Kara and her best friend... this no longer feels like the show I love.

Don't like it
reasonstobe17 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode upsets me. Why don't give Alex and Kelly some screen time? Where is Nia, a great reporter, a hero and a Superfriend? Why give a character William Dey who viewers don't like and who irritates 90 percent of fandom so much screen time? Not mentioning those awful tries to build that relationships between Kara and William and have drama "I dOnT waNnA bUilD aNother ReLaTioNshiPs on LiEs" Seriosly? Take William away, he is wasting Supergirl show's time, give us more Kelly and Alex, give us Nia, for God's sake! Don't you understand we don't want what you're doing?

Just boring...
rebeca_carla17 February 2020
This toyman drama is so slow, i think it's nice to see Winn back but his daddy drama is really annoying. Not to mention the plot with William, so predictable and cheap, their scene on the bar was so cringe that it was hard to watch. Still a big NO for me !!!

the show is called supergirl but somehow men are always saving the day
shipperofships17 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The second half of this season is really going downhill. It's sad to see how on a show, which is supposed to be all about female empowerment, female characters are sidelined to prop up the male ones. Why is it that men can have redemption arcs but women are blamed and made evil for the littlest things.

This show loves to boast about diversity and inclusion. LGBT characters, interracial lesbian couple, first transgender superhero. But what's the point in having this characters if you don't use them? There was no Nia in the episode. Why? Kelly once again had a minute of screentime. There was no Dansen in an episode aired around Valentine's day. You have such a great couple BUT you barely show them on screen. Why?

The whole William and Kara storyline is a mess. But what angered me the most was how Winn was trying to push Kara into this relationship. This is the third time it happened on the show. If you have to use one character to point out the supposed chemistry between two other characters, because otherwise no one would see it, it just means that there's no chemistry. So maybe just stop?

And the Luthors. I don't know who needs the reminder but Lena is the third lead on the show. Not Lex. I really enjoy Jon Cryer's Lex but I hate how he's stealing Lena's screentime.

Anyhow, I didn't like the episode. It was frustrating and boring to me. Alex leaving the DEO and Kara rejecting William are the only highlights of this episode. Writers, please do better.

Not my cup of tea
danielagutugutu17 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was truthfully boring, started with a cringe-worthy performance between William and Kara. I love Melissa Benoist as a singer, but William there seemed off and awkward. Most scenes were long and tiresome. Supergirl needs more of that superclap too, why does the series forget she has a billion powers at her command?

Anywho, watch as this episode sets up Kara and William. disgusting.

It's cristal clear to me Kara would say yes to William. She showed excitement when she entered the room, but when she saw the gift, she felt guilty. She doesn't want to start something based on lies again. That's why she said that. The show wouldn't come with that scene for nothing, they will try to make Kara and William a thing. I know it's easier and safer for us to interpret Kara's "I don't like you that way" like we got rid of him, but knowing CW, it's completely the opposite. They will make this thing grow, because she will tell him the truth or he'll find out by himself she's Supergirl, making all of this an "act of consideration". That's what they did there. I don't trust CW and won't give them the benefit of the doubt again. We have been baited for too long. I'm tired and I'm not watching till they make this a show about STRONG WOMEN again, about Supergirl standing for herself and STOP shoving men to her (abusive and toxic ones).

Puts me off the fact that if Lena was a man, they would be in a romantic relationship by now. And even tho they are having a bad time right now, you can see how much they love each other even through pain and would do literally anything to keep the other safe. This is true love material.

And besides the obvious romantic undertones 5A showed, we can mention all the Clois parallels through the seasons. We're not delusional.

We want a story about a true hero, we want better storyline. We want Nia getting bigger at Catco, not William. We want Dansen, we want Alex adoption plot. Not a show about Lex or total lazy writing choices. How can you say this is a show with lgbt representation if you forget about them?

And about Kara, they are not doing justice to this iconic comic character and I'm deeply sad for that because I waited SO LONG for a show that represented me and that's what we get. How can a hero be stronger than SUPERMAN and get beaten down by Lex Luthor? And the HUMAN that was beaten down too wake up before her, and even help her to get up???? Seriously, what the f......

Also: they sidelined Nia and Kelly to give all these men screentime. Why??????? Seriously? They really want to get this show canceled, that's the only answer I could find for all that crap. It seems like they forget who are the current main audience of this show.

Where are the women? This is called SuperGIRL
elainebsaavedra18 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was unnecessary, didn't advance the main plot except for a 3 minute scene with Luthors / Leviathan. This was a waste of time and budget. You could take the lead out of the episode and it wouldn't make an impact on the overall "plot" of the episode.

Why bring back a character from 2 seasons ago and give him all the attention? Also, why would he reclaim the name toyman in a 2 episode arc when Lena has been trying to do the same for 3 seasons and still is being labeled evil? Misogyny?

Where was Nia? The 15 seconds of screen time for Kelly was ridiculous. This is supposed to be a FEMALE LEAD show and the only things highlighted here are that only the men can succeed.

The William / Kara scenes were cringe worthy. Please drop that storyline, nobody is here for it. That male character doesn't have defining characteristics and the only thing we remember about him are that he was a toxic snake and an unnecessary for his supposed cover. Kara had to be coerced to consider and almost accept the date. It's a terrible message to send to the female audience, extremely tone deaf and disgusting. We thought that we were past that and that the show learned that in S2/S3 if a character has to be told repeatedly who to date then the chemistry is non existent. Third time is not the charm.

This 5b is going downhill and fast.

Supergirl team needs to do better!
snsdvisualdream27 February 2020
What happen to girl power?! And a consistent plot!?There are alot of plot holes that aren't addressed by the writers and producers/ team of the show! They clearly have a gold mine and great actors that are going to waste.
