Neil Gaiman's Doctor Who episode, Caprica finishing off its run in the UK, and South Park season 15 kicks off. Plus an animated feature worth checking out...
This weekend brings us what is likely to be the most eagerly anticipated episode of Doctor Who since the series relaunched or the then unknown property of Matt Smith's Time Lord talents were yet to be tested.
Saturday, May 14th delivers the fourth episode in the sixth series, and its intriguing title, The Doctor's Wife, is only a faint indicator of the real draw, and that's that the episode's been written by Neil Gaiman.
We have a spoiler-free review that may hold clues to just how excited we are about the episode, and even better, an interview with its author, Neil Gaiman, here.
We're as eager to hear what everyone thinks of it as to rewatch it again tomorrow night, and we'll...

Chicago – Fry, Leela, Bender, and the rest of the gang of “Futurama” take a major step forward in their return from the other side of the TV schedule with the first brand new hour of television debuting tonight on Comedy Central. Fans are understandably nervous that something may have been lost during the show’s time off. Fear not space travellers.
TV Rating: 4.0/5.0
The saga of the return of “Futurama” has been a fascinating one. First, I think even Fox would agree that they didn’t treat Matt Groening’s clever creation with any sort of consistency, regularly axing it for sports events and barely reminding viewers that it was even on the air. When it was canceled after four seasons in 2003, the response was often “That’s still on?”

Tonight, Futurama will return from the dead for the fifth or sixth time. This is a sacred event. Five years ago, when I was rediscovering the show on Adult Swim reruns, news of Futurama’s return would have caused my brain to explode. In fact, my brain did explode back in 2007, when the show’s creators announced the production of four direct-to-dvd movies. Then I actually saw the movies…and haven’t felt so disappointed by a franchise I love since The Phantom Menace taught us all a valuable lesson about intergalactic trade routes. All of which has me wondering: When Futurama returns this week,...

We're back, baby!
So it’s old news that Futurama has been brought back from the dead and has new episodes on the way featuring the entire original cast, but what many people might not know is one critical detail: it’s back on the air this Thursday, June 24 at 10 p.m. Est on Comedy Central.
That’s soon.
Unfortunately, for our readers in Canada, little is yet known as to the scheduling of Futurama north of the border. As a show whose roots were predominantly international (as opposed to a show like, say, Family Guy, whose viewership was principally North American), this fan would expect any aversion to international release would prove less digestible to the network than, well, Pig Pink Gum “The only gum with the breath-freshening power of ham!” Nevertheless, here is the first 90 seconds of the season 6 premiere entitled ‘Rebirth’ for fans anywhere from Helsinki, Finland to Tucson,...

Good News Everybody!
Comedy Central has been very generous with the Futurama tidbits. They have been posting a new sketch, scene, character design or plot detail every day, as a lead in to the triumphant return of Futurama.
Unfamiliar with Futurama? Here is what you need to know. Futurama is the other show by The Simpsons' creator Matt Groening. The show centers on Philip J. Fry, a 20th century pizza delivery boy that accidentally gets frozen for 1000 years. He awakens in New New York, a future inhabited by robots, aliens, mutants from below the surface and animated heads in jars (including the Earthican President Richard Nixon). Fry finds himself what family he had, in a withered and aged scientist-cum-entrepreneur Professor Hubert Farnsworth, who beyond inventing such world changing devices as the smell-o-scope and the first robot to qualify for a boat loan, owns and operates Planet Express, an intergalactic package delivery service.

Jason Manford, Oliver Postgate and a whole lot of movies lead this week's TV round-up...
Geek Week TV: saving clicking finger tendons and remote batteries since 2009
In the run up to what's proving to be an Easter TV week to remember, there's a couple of promising shows to enjoy now, before the sugar shock sets in and the geeklets near you start bouncing off all available surfaces.
Comedy Rocks With Jason Manford airs tonight, Friday March 26th at 9:00pm on ITV1. It's billed as a variety show, but don't let that scare you off as the scales seem heavily tipped in the comedic direction with standup comic John Bishop and Jo Brand lined up alongside the music and other acts. We're quite happy to spend time with Mr Manford outside of his 8 Out Of 10 Cats team captain duties and are booking our spot on the settee early.
Then on Wednesday,...

Last year we learned the Comedy Central has been looking to develop new "Futurama" episodes and begin airing them in 2010. But then came news that most of the voice actors would be replaced in order to save some money. Everything ended up working out and it has already been confirmed that Billy West (Philip Fry), John Dimaggio (Bender) and Katey Sagal (Leela) will all be returning. And Comedy Central has now revealed that the first episode will air on Thursday, June 24th at 10pm. "Futurama" launched in 1999 on Fox and aired through 2003. Adult Swim and then Comedy Central kept the show alive in repeats, with Comedy Central giving a home to the "Futurama" movie "Bender's Big Score," "The Beast with a Billion Backs," "Bender's Game" and "Into the Wild Green Yonder." Ratings for the reruns, as well as DVD sales, helped to spur talk of a comeback. "Futurama" has a...
