In the year 2009, an epidemic known as Tactiley Transmitted Infection (TTI) killed hundreds of millions around the world. Passed though skin-to-skin contact, TTI was deadly in a matter of weeks. In 2013, touch was outlawed. Karen and Valeria work for the Center for Pathogen Control, the organization that prosecutes unlawful touch. When Karen discovers that Valeria is a part of an underground organization of people that participate in illegal touching, she must decide whether to follow her heart and touch Valeria, risking her own health, or to follow the law and never experience the love of another person.
