One of the better horror shorts I've seen in a long time! The quality of the production was top notch, from the set design, to the cinematography, even the box aesthetic and tarot cards were creepy as hell. Just a very well thought out production in all facets, really impressive attention to detail. I felt tense throughout from the creepy atmosphere, the horror is built up naturally, not through the use of just cheap jump scares but genuine dread. The whole thing felt like a horror version of Jumanji, would love to see a feature version some day! Looking forward to seeing more work from Neil Stevens.

a box

Two obvious virtues - use of theme of Gothic stories in fine manner , creating the fair atmosphere and the use of anxiety - so familiar for many viewers - in reasonable manner. And, yes, the box as cure, source of pain and cards with misterious verdicts. So, not great but more than good crafted.
