This is a light-hearted cool episode. We get to know the bunker a bit more. There is lots of fun and warm moments. There's food, lights, decorations. We (spn family) needed this kind of episode ahead of the big fight coming up.
Awesome

I can't believe the negative attention this episode received. Was it a little goofy and out of character for our favorite leads? Yes a bit. But you have to remember Sam and Dean have never had a normal life. They always dreamed of having Christmases and other holidays, their mom around to pack them a lunch, a woman's touch if you will. They grew up with a very hard headed dad. So of course they were going to relish being taken care of and cooked for. I thought it was a really sweet episode to see considering the end is so near. It also showed that they are still family, no matter what happened with Jack in the past; he's still a Winchester. I for one am glad we got to see them bonding and having so much fun! It ended up being a pretty cool new monster to boot with some pretty big "creep" factor. Mrs. Butters was a phenomenal actress that really kept you guessing through the whole episode. Cute housekeeper or evil maniac? 9/10!
I wasn't emotionally prepared.

I don't see this as a "filler" episode. Here's why...

First off, it's great to be reunited with the beloved Winchester bros, and Jack. This is an incredibly fun episode with ties to Scooby Doo and the Ghostbusters. I will say Sam going on a date felt a little forced, but they needed to split the trio up in order to trap Dean and Jack.
The reason I don't view this as a filler episode is because it's revealed that without Butters, the bunker hasn't been operating at full capacity. So given all the things the boys HAVE been able to accomplish on "stand-by" mode so far, imagine what all regular mode could enable (e.g., monster radar). That surely has to tie into the next (final) six episodes. It's also revealed there's an interdimensional geoscope... and the fact Dean couldn't see anything through it means something's wrong. That has to be a teaser for a future arc.
Carry on, boys. See you next week!

Cute for a filler episode, but Cas not being there REALLY didn't make sense

Having an episode with a family vibe to it, and including (I love Jack, don't get me wrong) a character you just started considering family a year ago, while excluding the one who has been a family member for over a decade, doesn't make sense.
Cas missing Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Jack's birthday!! His son's birthday!!, really hurt. It hurt badly.
Yes, I understand he would have mojo-ed everything at the first sign of danger, but Cas missing all those happy, wholesome family moments, is unforgivable.
I'm not giving it less than 6 stars only because Dean being happy warms my heart, and Sam dressing up for his date with Eileen was adorable.

Skip it-it's only filler.

This was the first episode that aired since the end of their pandemic hiatus, which wasn't supposed to happen obviously, so it had to air a week after the previous one had, I assume, but I still feel inclined to say this episode was a huge waste of a first episode back. Storyline-wise, it was nice to see the Winchesters have a grandmother-figure, but honestly, you could do without it if you wanted to stick to the plot of trying to defeat Chuck. From a writer's POV though, I get that they had a certain amount of time to fill in (hence, "filler" episode), and only so much story to make up. I'd put it under the "Changing Channels", "French Mistake", "Fan Fiction", etc. category, so if I want to watch something funny, I'll watch it for sure. These silly episodes, even "X-Files" did once a season, but it happens more often during "Supernatural", not only because it's a sillier show, but there's sooooo much time to fill up.
Hilarious

Guys and gals, is the start of the last section of the last season...OFC WE HAD A NEW MONSTER...
Loved it, a bit hard on the Jack powerless thing...due to smoothies (hence the 9 not the 10), cmon...was the celery rotten or something XD
Anyway, this fact just gave me the heads up that Humans will finish this...not the son of the fallen angel.
Anyways...OFC A NEW MONSTER, woop woop
Good job SN.

It was amazing reuniting with the boys. Tiny but important details, possible future scenarios. Dean couldn't see anything through geoscope, possibly Chuk is snapping them away. Maybe? Lots of ghost busting and Christmas! Pancakes and nymphi-magic. Funny, but insightful. Let's say, Castiel was missed but I'm sure he was minding some important business, somewhere. See you next week.
Not so good

Some moments in Last Holiday were funny, but too much was over the top. I didn't appreciate the fake Christmas, the pumpkin carving, or the brothers behaving like children - especially Dean.
Sam and Dean, who have been hunters for decades, are still getting fooled too easily.

Dean: He'll be fine. I mean I've been through worse. Look at me I'm the picture of health.
Sam: Ignoring your trauma doesn't make you healthy.
Dean: Sure it does.
