Great Flick

I'm tired of seeing the same old crap regurgitated out of Hollywood. It's exciting to see a fresh story done without the multi-million dollar Hollywood budget that seems to overpower the very reason we go to see a movie. I want to be stimulated by a great story. Dazzling special effects mostly just distract the viewer into thinking they saw a great movie, when there really wasn't any substance. This movie delivers a powerful blow. Right from the start you are dragged down with the main character into a downward spiraling string of bad luck and bad choices. This film is not your typical Hollywood feel good fairy tale. And if you aren't familiar with Australian culture, well you get a good dousing of that too with some gritty comedy woven into the seamless adventures of this diamond in the rough. Check this movie out and you are guaranteed not to be asking for your 75 minutes back.

This movie charms with its spontanety and crisp dialogue.

Great to a film with some freshness and vitality after the laborious mindless stuff that seems to dim our senses. Look forward to whatever this talented crew come up with in the future. Australia makes few films now days and good to see a slice of the underbelly of the Australia, the inner city, vagrant who could be anything, we've all known one and most often they disappear without realising anything of worth. Adolf Hitler was an example of the homeless man with potential waiting for his moment. No doubt an evil man but with vast resources of will. Eric is much more ordinary but is dynamic and quick thinking, he has heart and in the best Australian tradition willing to have a go.
