When Brett gives Neri the pendant he found in the flower, Neri tells him it was her father's and on further examination, is found to be a map of the island. Following clues found on the island, a large object is discovered buried under the sand on the island. From what they have learned so far, Jason suspects it is a spacecraft. Dianne is shocked to learn her research hours will be cut back and she will be expected to make her equipment available for "commercial purposes". Mick locks Rocky in the recompression chamber.

Brett and Jason go to the island to look for clues to Neri's past. They show the key they found in the "never-bloom" flower. Neri says it was her father's.
The new Commander Burns and her son, Mick, have arrived on board Orca. Mick portends to be a real piece of work. Commander Burns makes it clear to Dr. Bates that her "pet project" on whales is no longer top priority.
Dr. Phillips, also a new person to arrive, is a cocky boat captain with a short contract at Orca. He tussles verbally with the new commander, who is not impressed with him.
At UBRI, Dr. Helligren wonders who the little creature is beside Charlie?
On the island, friend Vanessa finds markings on a rock which might explain where the next clue to Neri's background is to be found.
Mick locks a boy in a hyperbaric chamber. The boy gets rescued just in time. This is just the beginning of mean pranks to be played by Mick.
Neri begins to remember something about her past. All the kids begin to dig at different spots on the beach and find metal under the sand. Jason tells Neri he thinks it is a spacecraft that might have brought her here from another planet.
