As they continue their rogue investigation, Thomas, Anne and Frank put the pieces together between Jürgen, the Isefort murders and Barbara's disappearance.
The gardeners premises are being searched, with Bethge present. Sniffer dogs respond, and a complete car is excavated from the ground. Becker is warned of the search and escapes. Still not a trace of Barbara.
No trace of Barbara, her family turns to the public. But when young detective Anna Bach takes on the files, her hunch is Jürgen Becker, a gardener: He was one of the last seen with Barbara and provided a shady alibi, without being asked.
Retired Thomas Bethge summons a team of friends to take on the cold case of his missing sister. After all those years, the gardeners Forbidden Room still hides secrets, that lead to a shattering suspicion.
Summer 1989. Barbara Neder disappears from her house, just after two double murders were committed in a forest nearby. The local police seems unable to cope with the case. Only young detective Anna Bach sees a connection between the cases.
Bethge promises his mother to find his sister. But detectives in Weesenburg aren't keen and block his activities. They suspect a revenge act by mobsters, investigating Barbaras ex-husband instead - causing a Bethge family rupture.
