Layla (Alexandra Chando) and Derrick (Mike Merrill) are bickering co-hosts of a Chicago morning TV show. They hate each other. They are getting an audition for a big L. A. morning show. Someone leaves a baby for them in their dressing room. The mother is dead. Custody was left to an elderly neighbor who is a huge fan and sees them as the perfect parents for the baby.
The premise is ridiculous but I do like this pairing. They have fun combative chemistry. On the other hand, the story is stupid. It would be marginally better if the baby's parents are unknown and the show does a drive to find them. It would still be wrong but that wrong can be ignored. This is completely unignorable. The chemistry is there if only it's used in a better movie. Even with the best casting, this story would ultimately run out of steam.
