Certainly not the best film about Flynn.

"Errol Flynn: Portrait of a Swashbuckler" is a very cheap looking documentary. The print looks like it was shot on video and the film clips are all very fuzzy. And, in a few cases, color film clips are in black & white (such as "The Adventures of Robin Hood"). And, inexplicably, it is narrated by Christopher Lee--a man who seems to have no connection with Flynn. Also, oddly, the film doesn't even talk about Flynn's childhood until halfway through the documentary! Now I am NOT saying it's a bad documentary, but it does leave a lot to be desired and there are better biographies of Flynn out there (such as "Adventures of Errol Flynn"). So, unless you are a crazed film buff (like me), try seeing this other film instead. Or, if you are a nut like me, see them both. The bonus is that BOTH are very interesting and "Portrait of a Swashbuckler" does try to figure out why Flynn had such contempt for women.
