This is so obvious to see it, among the quality of this outstanding series, as obvious as a black fly in a bowl of milk.... After the punks have beaten the cop, they had removed his helmet to hit him even harder in the head, before running away, HOLDING the helmet instead of getting rid of it. WHY? Even the more stupid man on earth would have dropped it. No, they kept it, on the contrary. Maybe it was to justify that the screenplay authorizes the other cops, colleagues of the beaten cop, to find the punks more easily. That's the only explanation.... Hmmm A bit too easy, isn't it? And in such a top quality piece of work, anyone could se it. As a black fly in a bowl of milk.
