When “You’re Not Supposed to Be Here” writer Lauren Caster went on a camping trip to one of the Bureau of Land Management’s many camp grounds, she was struck by the sparse facilities nearby, whose sense of isolation would be haunting during a pregnancy.
“There’s a lot of towns around there that sometimes aren’t welcoming to people visiting,” Caster told TheWrap. “Once I was pregnant, I had all these emotions, and I felt isolated and vulnerable.”
Leaning into Jordan Peele-esque themes, the Lifetime thriller, which premieres Nov. 4, centers on pregnant lesbian couple Zoe (Chrishell Stause) and Kennedy (Diora Baird), who attempt to disconnect from their stressful lives and reconnect with each other by going on a weekend getaway to a cabin in the woods, courtesy of Kennedy’s boss. While the spouses lean on the vacation to alleviate their problems, Zoe begins to feel unsettled...

Industrial metal band Static-x have released the new song “Stay Alive.” The track appears on the band’s upcoming Project Regeneration: Vol. 2 album and features vocals from late frontman Wayne Static.
“Stay Alive” is one of the final original songs Wayne was working on before his passing. In fact, in a release, the group’s former sound engineer Eddie Ortel says, “Wayne was working on this track the night that he passed away.”
An accompanying music video can be disturbing to some, as it features unreleased footage from Wayne’s “Assassins of Youth” video that shows him engaging in drug use that would eventually lead to his early death. Wayne passed away on November 1st, 2014, at the age of 48.
In the song, Wayne sings of the hardships of being a “professional addict” with the cry, “I just need you to survive! Cut you up to stay alive!” Along with Wayne on lead vocals,...

Key French tax credits aimed at the cinema, audiovisual and video game sectors generated $3.2 billion (€2.9 billion) worth of extra spending in France from 2017 to 2021, according to a study released by Ey Consulting.
The report commissioned by France’s National Cinema Centre (Cnc) focused on four incentives: the cinema tax credit, offering a 30% rebate on eligible spend; the 25% audiovisual tax credit; the 30% Tax Rebate for International Productions (Trip), to which an additional 10% can be added if VFX or animation work is done on the territory, and 30% video game tax credit.
Breaking down the contribution of each the incentives, it said the cinema credit had generated €373 million ($414 million) in extra spending; the audiovisual credit, €1.3 billion ($1.4 billion); the Trip, €1.1 billion ($1.2 billion), and the video games incentive, €116 million ($129 million) from 2017 to 2021.

The reason for weatherman Rob Marciano’s lengthy Good Morning America absence has been allegedly “revealed”.
Since 2014, Marciano has been employed as ABC’s senior meteorologist, providing extensive weather coverage across the network.
But GMA viewers noticed that Marciano has not been presenting from the studio since November 2022, with many social media users wondering why this was.
It’s now being claimed that Marciano has been “banned” from New York’s Times Square Studios, where GMA is filmed, after allegedly making a colleague feel “uncomfortable”.
A source told Page Six that Marciano was accused of “improper” behaviour and “was punished for it”.
While the alleged incident has not been divulged, it’s been claimed by a separate source that it occurred in the wake of Marciano’s divorce from his wife, Eryn, which was announced in July 2022.
This source said Marciano was struggling with the stress caused by the divorce,...

Roman Kemp has been forced to deny that a recent Creme Egg blunder was a prank.
The Capital Radio DJ revealed on Monday (20 March) that he came across a hybrid version of the Cadbury treat – half of which was milk chocolate and the other half white chocolate.
He put a photo of the Egg on Twitter, alongside the post: “What is this??? Half White Half Milk Chocolate??”
It was after this that his followers informed him that this Creme Egg was part of a promotional deal that could have seen him win up to £10,000. However, the DJ confessed that he had actually eaten it before sharing the tweet.
Six of the eggs are worth £10,000, while three are worth £5,000 – and those who discover one must take a picture with the uneaten Egg in order to win the money.
After admitting to the blunder, Kemp was inundated with posts accusing him of...

Film fans have expressed their joy over the practice of changing the titles of English-language Hollywood films to other English phrases for international audiences.
The online discussion began when Juan Buis, a writer and designer, shared a collection of movie posters in their original forms alongside their versions when advertised in France.
The thread, posted on Wednesday (8 March), shows Hollywood film titles alongside their French cinema equivalents – often not in French, as expected, but using English to create an alternative moniker.
“The French love to translate movie titles from English to... English,” Buis began his post.
“Here's a thread with my all-time favourites, starting with The Hangover... I mean Very Bad Trip.”
The 2009 comedy, starring Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms, is titled Very Bad Trip in France.
Other “translations” in the thread included The Other Guys becoming “Very Bad Cops”, Step Up 2 turning into “Sexy Dance 2...

“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now. One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through,” Combs explained. “It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record, and I hope you love it as much as we do.”

Pack your zip lines and grapefruits, the “Girls Trip” sequel is taking us to West Africa.
Writer-director-producer Tracy Oliver, who co-wrote the original 2017 romp, joined the Variety Studio presented by Audible at Sundance and provided an update on the anticipated reunion of Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish.
Oliver, at the festival to promote the second season of her Amazon Prime Video series “Harlem,” said she had a “definitive ‘Girls Trip 2’ update. That it’s officially happening. I can say that.” She also provided a plot update, and while the film’s producer Will Packer “might kill me, we’re looking to set it in Ghana.”
One of Oliver’s “Harlem” stars, actor Shoniqua Shandai, screamed “Afrochella!” after Oliver dropped the news. She refers to the annual Afrochella festival, Ghana’s premiere cultural and music event whose name borrows from the American flower crown convention Coachella.

The story of a mature woman determined to dig up a long-buried secret history, The Lost King tells a tale not unlike that of Philomena (2013), the award-winning British comedy-drama crafted by much the same key creative talents as this film. Actor-writer-producer Steve Coogan, his co-screenwriter Jeff Pope, director Stephen Frears, composer Alexandre Desplat and producer Christine Langan have gotten the band back together to dramatize the story of how self-taught historian Philippa Langley, played by Sally Hawkins, found the remains of King Richard III in a parking lot.
The result is pleasant-enough middlebrow entertainment that will serve the cinematic needs of older viewers especially. But it’s considerably less interesting than Philomena, a more muckraking work that churned over the Catholic Church’s shameful past and had the all-powerful empathy-extracting weapon that is Judi Dench doing an Irish accent. Worldwide sales of French TV content set an all-time record last year despite severe challenges caused by the continued pandemic, according to the annual report on domestic programming exports by the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (Cnc) and film and TV promotional org Unifrance.
The Covid-19 crisis, the report notes, had many ramifications on international distribution of TV content that continued to be felt in 2021, including the absence and then gradual recovery of physical markets; an influx of projects in post-production; delays in the delivery of programs and difficulties in supplying new shows; and economic uncertainties among broadcasters.
Nevertheless, global sales, pre-sales and co-production investment in 2021 together reached €375.9 million (373 million), up 6 from a year earlier, according to the report, presented on Monday by Cécile Lacoue of the Cnc and Unifrance’s Sarah Hemar at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous TV market in Biarritz.
