Every filmmaker, no matter how small, leaves behind a legacy. The same goes for indie writer/director Joseph Dodge, who tragically passed away this week in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. As a fellow fright geek, Joe contributed regularly to the horror community and co-directed the award-winning indie feature The Secret Life of Sarah Sheldon, as well as last year’s festival short Burial Party.
In his memory, we at Dread Central have posted Burial Party for all to see. It’s a fascinating example of a budding filmmaker, and a recent review from Film Threat ended with these prophetic words:
”If this is the last thing he ever does... well, it’s quite a mark to leave on the world of short film.”
Rest in peace, Joe.
