A hike at Eagle Creek Trail in one of Oregon's most beautiful destinations, Columbia River Gorge, becomes a life or death scenario for 150 people, who are blocked from exiting - due to a wildfire. With interviews from survivors who became their own rescuers, this documentary of the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire, features videos and photos from the hike, as well as testimony from the hikers of the harrowing experience that changed their lives. The Columbia River Gorge is becoming a main destination for travelers all over the world and their impact presents both economic benefits and management challenges to the region. When three explorer-type individuals find themselves in a dire situation, they use their wilderness acumen to band together to help coordinate and keep calm the wildfire survivors and hike 14 miles overnight, sandwiched between two blazes on the verge of spreading.
