- There are several major battle scenes. Naval combat and trench warfare are depicted quite realistically. These scenes are not on the whole very graphic although there are two brief shots of men with missing limbs as a result of battle wounds. In another scene, a foot amputation is carried out though this is not directly seen on camera.
