Liked it, wished it was produced differently

All the meat I wanted to see while watching the show they left for like the very end credits. I think it was because they wanted this specific part to have you wondering who in the room could be related to hicks but it was a bad sell. I would have rather had those other moments in the episode showing each of the potentials stories. I also didnt appreciate how they were piecing information with dramatic pauses to give the hicks babies... i felt like it was toying with them for the sake of production. I do like the show though and I hope they are able to continue.

Awesome show

Warning: Spoilers
This show deals with people who were taken from their mothers at birth and sold in a black market baby ring in the 1950s and 1960s. Shocking stories of women who were told that their baby was stillborn, when actually it was sold to people in another state. Very emotional stories of those trying to locate their birth families after 50 years. Can't wait for more episodes.

Immediately Hooked!

Awesome show, I love that they are delving into how this happened, and how technology is so awesome that we are able to find kin. The show shows the happy, sad, and frustrating side of dealing with both government and individuals. Can't wait until the next episodes are released.

Wow!

This whole story is so deep and complicated and intertwined it honestly reminds me of it being like the "Breaking Bad" of the baby world. This Hicks guy was crazy poweful and it moved all the way up the power chain. Super dark and so much more needs to be discovered honestly.

This documentary is truly epic

I cannot beleive how covered up this whole history was. It honestly deserves to be further explored to see if there was a vaby selling ring all across the United States around the 1950's and 1960's from these so called clinics.

History of Reality

I feel sorry for all the victims in this show. However, I was a bit disgusted when the woman said: "Many of us became family, we were sold. How many people can say that." I had to stop and think. Is this woman living in a different world? Hello!! There is a whole race of people that can say that. The African American race. The very idea that this is not even mentioned in this video shines a light on the understanding of the phrase: Black Lives Matter. Because she made it seem as if, oh my God, this has never happened before. However, as an African American woman, there is a real lack of empathy because at least she can start somewhere to trace her family. As can all those victims. WE as people of color can never do that. And the few of us that try, are unsuccessful. Our culture, our heritage, our history, is gone. And it was not for love or because another family wanted a child to raise. It was for profit to use us as property. How do I feel about this movie. Unmoved. Do a story on the how African Americans can't find their roots at all! Then I can be impressed. Stop leaving it up to black directors to do the dirty work of telling the truths about American's greatest stain.

Agonizingly slow and redundant

Warning: Spoilers
If so many Hick's babies (as adults) actually wondered if they were related to Dr Hicks, wouldn't their DNA results offer clues to that question? Many would be half siblings.

So much time with the nice woman who couldn't decide whether to look at her Dad's 41 year old corpse. Enough already - don't look! You can get DNA from almost anything these days, so all the "suspense" at the condition of the body was fabricated.

Look forward to hearing more on this investigation.

Wanted to enjoy it but....

First, the 'journalists' they have on the show are celebrities. Chris Jacobs was a Entertainment Tonight correspondent, not a journalist. Lisa is married to Jon Cryer.

Second, the production was very Curse of Oak island. Meandering and pandering.

Few other things:. The bearded old guy had chew in his mouth on every scene! No one was wearing seatbelts, even in downtown Atlanta, OMG. The show was very overdramatized, even the ending....and no, I highly doubt a SEASON 2.

Misleading
davidantzelevitch18 January 2022
The show misleads us into thinking dr hicks was doing terrible things when In actuality he was doing a great thing. Convincing moms who wanted an abortion to carry the baby and give it up for adoption to a family who wanted to provide a good home.
