• Radu Negrescu-Sutu : First of all, we were asking for the respect of human rights and listed them, as they were not respected in our country. We then asked for freedom of thought, opinion, the freedom to speak without incurring consequences is our opinions did not match those of the government, but we had the right to think differently. We were asking for the freedom to leave and return to our country whenever we wished for: free movement. We were asking for equality in rights, for we thought some were above the law: communists, Securitate agents - nothing happened to them and we didn't have the same rights as them. We asked that Romania stop being granted the most favoured country clause, as Romania did not observe the international agreements it had signed in Helsinki. And, to top it all, we were asking these rights for ourselves and for the future generations.
