After attacking and robbing health spa owner Elsie, Finbar Finch is imprisoned for four years, he vows to get even.
Twenty minutes in, I was preparing to write a somewhat negative review, I thought the early stages of this one were a little silly, that humour was perhaps at odds with the story itself, which was actually really good.
It does get better as it progresses, and it is saved by a pretty brilliant ending. With a few tweaks this really could have been a classic episode. I genuinely loved the twist at the end, it was so unexpected, and so well delivered.
Arguably too many silly moments, Mrs McCarthy felt like Frank Spencer at times, her face mask, her trip in the mud bath, they were amusing moments, but I'm not sure they were needed.
The best element for me, was actually Ryan Gage, who played the wonderfully named Finbar Finch, he's an actor or some pedigree, Endeavour fans will I'm Sure recognise him, I thought was great here, very charismatic.
If I heard the name Elsie barked out again, I will scream, every two seconds it was Elsie, Elsie.
Very nearly excellent, a few flaws too many, 7/10.
