Brant Daugherty (Paul) and Kimberly Daugherty (Lacy), who portray each other's love interests, married shortly after filming this movie... in real life. The chemistry was evident throughout the movie.
The Christmas scenes were shot at the outdoor mall in Frankenmuth, a German town in Michigan.
Many locations in the film are real places in Frankenmuth, MI that were modified to fit the aesthetic of the fictional Holiday Falls. For example, the bakery that Paul works at is actually Zak & Mac's Chocolate Haus; its interior was reworked to make it look like a bakery instead of a candy store. Holiday Falls Inn looks nearly identical to its real-life counterpart (Bavarian Inn Lodge) except for the sign outside, which was edited in post-production to read "Holiday Falls Inn."
The name of actor Chad Matthew Munroe is probably a play on Chad Michael Murray who has starred in a number of made-for-television Christmas romance movies.
Conspicuous by its absence is Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, less than a mile away from principal filming. At 7 acres it's the largest year-round Christmas store in the world. Despite being perfect for this movie, no scenes were shot there, not even exteriors.
