If you hear the film's title "Alles Leben ist Kampf", which means something along the lines of "All Life is Fighting", you probably guess correctly that here we have a propaganda movie from 1930's Nazi Germany. These 25 minutes will have their 80th anniversary next year. The writers and directors are Herbert Gerdes and W. Hüttig and Gerges is somewhat known for his documentary "Erbkrank" that deals with the subject of Nazis supporting euthanasia on humans that do not really fit the standard of a superior race because of their (usually mental) disabilities. And this one we have here is basically a sequel because it is about exactly the same subject like his previously-mentioned work from 1936. But back to this one here. It starts with some recordings from the animal world and after a couple minutes moves on to humans and basically shows disabled people (whatever kind) and explains why these do not deserve to live. It is a documentary that supports euthanasia and this tells enough about the story. I gave this one a slightly lower rating than "Erbkrank" because I think that it's nothing new or refreshing anymore, but it is still an important subject and from a historic perspective that tells us about a time that will hopefully never repeat itself, it is an important film and a good watch.
