It's kind of a series and I only watched the first episode, but man this is awesome. Only saw little shots of it before, seemed a bit tv-quality, but this is definitely great. In this corny 1981 images we have nice cinematography, not only perfectly cutting and framing, but also adding to the jokes. Also, the timing and pacing of everything is perfect. The lines fit on top of each other, it never gets too confusing and manages to be funny throughout. The actors act, and they act well. I saw the remake film adaptation before, and I liked that, but wow this is better. Much better. Only little shots I liked more in the film, mostly due to technical stuff, like the zoom out of the earth. But what is one joke lost compared to hundreds of jokes gained. Also, this looks surprisingly good. Some bad effects throughout, but also many great ones. Amazing alien designs, cool sets, funny gadgets. I'll write something full when watched to an end.
