In the original opening to the "genocide" episode; Laurence Olivier made his only on screen appearance to warn viewers of the disturbing content of that highly graphic edition to the series which documents the murder of 6 million jewish victims by the Nazis and their infamous concentration camps. Laurence Olivier's brief appearance has never been included in any subsequent TV screening or DVD/ BLU RAY release.
Screened without a commercial break on its original transmission.
The segment at the beginning, where Laurence Olivier comes before the camera and give his most moving speech, WAS retained for the VHS version. Inexplicably, it was not retained for the DVD version.
In the original cut of this programme, Sir Laurence Olivier introduces it on-camera, warning of the graphic nature of the subject documented.
