very brief overview
movieman_kev13 December 2007
This 15 and a half minute featurette on the making of the movie "Welcome to the Jungle", which can be found as an extra on the DVD release of the aforementioned movie. It goes into the location where they choose to film, the improvisation aspect of the movie, and the special effects of said picture. At such a scant running time, it can't go into complete detail about any of the aspects, but gives enough for you to get a feel for what went into the movie. No background of how the story came into fruition is given which is a negative point. All in all, not really worth watching more then once, if that.

Decent making of documentary

Warning: Spoilers
This fifteen minute documentary on the making of the film "Welcome to the Jungle" alas doesn't delve deep enough into the production of said picture to be really informative or illuminating, but it still manages to be reasonably interesting just the same. Among the subjects addressed are how the actors and actresses improvised each and every scene, shooting on location in Fiji, and how certain gore gags were done (it's especially cool to see exactly how the impalement through the mouth with a bamboo pole set piece was pulled off). Actress Veronica Sywak reveals that she was excited by the challenge of working without a script and that she apologized to her fellow cast members at the end of every take for her character's crass behavior. Moreover, we also see writer/director Jonathan Hensleigh working with the cast and crew on various scenes. While this would have been better if it was longer and more incisive, as it is it's an okay featurette.
