A well scripted movie with technical brilliance. A gripped screenplay with limited characters. Debutants did an excellent movie. Director nailed it. Actors performed exceptionally well being debut, the actress played a mute role where she has to perform only by her expressions. Cinematography is very impressive, he created a perfect mood for the genre and framed it very well. Original score is keep u so engaging and give you goose bumps, in-fact sound is haunting. Very professional VFX work, Production values are good. First half doesn't surprise you much as the director starts buildup the story along side horror elements, but second half filled with loads of surprises. In every aspect the content is so fresh and surely you come back with new experience. Its quite perfect to find faults.

i m a psychological movie freak. And this movie came as a boon in my way for the new year. What a movie to start new year with. Let me start with pros and cons...
Pros: Cinematography, Sound Design, Background Score, Coloring, Costumes, Production design, VFX, Locations, Song, Characterization,
Cons: literally no cons
What can be improvised : Acting is good considering debutants, can be improvised, No marketing, could have more on promotions, Not much of trailers, teasers and promo cuts, not much of horror scenes, 1st half goes quickly, could have included more horror scenes to thrill the horror audience, very few unwanted scenes, some scenes could have been improvised.
What so ever, its one of the best I have seen in this genre.

The movie The Y is a psychological horror film directed by Girideva Raaj. The story revolves around Deeksha, a young woman who loses her voice and memory after a road accident that claims her parents' lives. As she moves into a mansion inherited from her grandmother, she has ghostly encounters that the doctor blames on PTSD. Is it really her psyche playing tricks, or is the house haunted? The movie employs tropes such as a sprawling bungalow, an antique grandfather's clock that has something to do with the supernatural occurrences, a sceptical husband, frumpy domestic help and gardener, a scaredy friend for comic relief and a doctor treating the victim. The audience is not subjected to ghosts with shoddy and crude make-up. The horror genre in Indian cinema seems to have upped its game as more filmmakers are embracing better production values, VFX and treatment. The eerie shadows, nightmares, and visions are ambiguous, and things are suspenseful until the end, when the truth is revealed. Director of Photography Karthik Mallur has created the ambience skilfully. Christopher Jayson's score and cinematography together will give you jumpscares on many occasions. While Girideva handles the filming well, his screenplay is loose and incoherent in many parts. There are a few instances that go unexplained. For example, Deeksha's laptop glitches and the keyboard types 'y' (there are a couple of reasons for the letter being used), and her husband Yuvan has a similar nightmare that she does. Deeksha and Yuvan's backstory doesn't add to the narrative, and the bit about the fatal accident is reinstated too many times. The mansion has its owner's (Deeksha's grandmother) image and a collection of vintage cars that are displayed time and again, and one would expect these to have something to do with the story, too, but end up being props. Leonilla D'souza, as Deeksha, delivers a decent performance, considering she doesn't have any dialogue as she loses her voice. She mainly needs to rely on her expressions, which she manages well. Yuvan Hariharan supports her ably as a kind and supportive husband.
Overall, The Y is a decent horror movie with a good storyline and a spooky ambience. However, the loose screenplay and story pull the potential down. I would rate this movie 7/10.

Fantastic Movie. Never seen before such content. Technically very good. Interesting screenplay. Awesome Cinematography and Background Score. Screenplay is so gripping that reveals a lot in the second half of the movie, it definitely keep you engaging, its seat edge thriller. Hardly movies came in this genre, but executed so well.

The title The Y itself grabbed my attention, then very creative posters. Trailer is beyond my expectations and made me curious to watch this film. 1st half went very quickly with characters introduction along side story building. Second half is like OMG its a brain teaser, i almost had a doubt on every character, husband, husband's friend, psychiatrist, watchman, gardener, uncle. Ghost is shown in the form of a clock. Even in her dreams there is no silly VFX ghosts like other movies. Cinematography is so perfect, sounds give u goosebumps. Very difficult to explain in few words but one must experience it. I wish the makers release it worldwide. Its a universal content.

A perfectly nailed film of 110 mins. The film stars with a veteran clock mechanic fixing an antique clock, this scene gets unnoticed as its in a title card and people takes couple of mins to get into film mood. But the scene is very much linked to the climax of the film. Then comes the glimpse of an accident scene, where Yuvan and Diksha are seen, and the movie refreshes audience mind with beautiful and picturesque location. The newly married couple relocates to a deserted grand mother's house and the eerie activities starts. The protagonist turns mute after the accident and goes through PTSD, if her psychological issue is one side the eerie activities on the other side they go through. How they deal with these is the film is about. Definitely it has great climax and lot of unexpected twists. Technically superb, brilliant cinematography and background sound. Clean VFX work. It has all the qualities to become top film in the world. I wish the film gets released all over the world.

Another good movie came. There's a lot of action, comedy, and romance. Everything about this movie was fantastic, from the characters to the narrative. The whole cast and crew of the film performed an excellent job. Everyone should see this. It's an excellent flick. This movie is a lot of fun. This is a film that I truly adore. Despite the film's length, the narrative keeps you interested till the conclusion. The cast and crew need to be recognized.great creation go and watch this movie. It's great to see a picture that successfully blends levity, romance, and pathos. We had an amazing time. Take the opportunity to visit it with your family and friends. Watched it with my parents and enjoyed, throughout. The movie definitely keeps its audience on the edge of their seats; wanting for more. Liked very much. New type of movie. Good comedy. Enjoyed very much. 3 D. The story was, also amazing in this movie the Christmas part is also amazing. Looooved it so much.. it is so hilarious and the best part of this movie is the hidden messages. The way they introduced the upcoming movie was unexpected at all and I can't wait to watch it. Loved this movie What a movie. Highly recommended. The comic scenes were fantastic, and the transformation scene was tremendous.

It's been a long time since I've seen you. There acting has always impressed me. Because of how fantastic he is in the film, I really like it. The acting was excellent, and the narrative was well-written. The Director and the Writer deserve credit for creating this masterpiece. I burst out laughing. It was a wonderful experience to make this, and there will be many positive outcomes as a result of its creation for those who are eagerly anticipating the Fair and Lovely movie. My encounter was extremely fascinating in its own right. The scenes are quite interesting, and not only do the characters do a great job of making the movie, but they also put in a lot of work to make it that way. I don't mind if you use this in any way. In short, I liked the movie and would recommend that you see it. I would encourage you to do this with all my heart. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has made me laugh and helped make my day better overall.
