That is a question which I was asking myself at least as much as the people in this 9-minute short movie from almost 10 years ago were asking themselves. It is set at a pub and strange things are going on. It's not safe to say if they are real or just in the people's heads, maybe both. This short film is fairly atmospheric, but with all the noises it becomes quickly repetitive, even at such a low running time. Anyway, the guests there seem to be pretty scared, but I really wasn't despite the supernatural threat. There is one pretty disgusting shot which includes a bucket (or something) full of worms. Yet I wonder why did they not simply leave the pub and get outside, have a drink somewhere else?
The film is written and directed by Andrzej Król and Gabriel Gauchet, who got nominated for a BAFTA five years after this short film for another short film. I am a bit surprised to see "The Pub" actually got some decent awards recognition as well and has such a high IMDb-rating. I myself was not wowed by it. If you are not sure if you should see it, don't be scared of the language in case you do not speak any German. There is no talk in here. However, I personally cannot recommend this film.
