Imboden one of Germany's finest directors right now Warning: Spoilers
Or I could also say Swiss. I am already a fan of his television movie "Mörder auf Amrum" and this one here from 7 years ago is almost as good. By the way he turns 60 this year. Mendl, Giering, Striesow and Mühe all give good performances here. This film has some kind of tragedy linked to it: Giering's fate, the fate of Mendl's character, Mühe's losses... However, it is a pretty good 90 minutes of television entertainment you really should give a chance. There are so many weak or mediocre crime thrillers out in Germany right now, but this one is much better.

The alternative title here is Dudek's final case and it may have been an even better title. And not only he is more involved in this one than he should be, but same goes for Giering's character. The final developments really surprising and I sat at the edge of my seat with an open mouth. Giering already played with Ulrich Mühe in Haneke's "Funny Games" and here he is in it with his daughter. Maybe they could have elaborated a bit more on her character, but it is fine I guess. At 90 minutes, you cannot cover everybody to the last detail. One of the core plots of this movie is finding a way to find out which of the identical twins committed the murder (well, it was kinda obvious I think), but as we find out in the end, there are other evil forces at work too. I was very much entertained here. The film's core plots have been executed successfully and the very prolific writer's love to detail helped as well with references such as Yin and Yang. Recommended.
