Not Crazy Rich Asians, this is filmed in the HDB heartlands where vast majority of people in Singapore live. Captures not unrealistic themes in local culture. Packed full of nuances for those who know Singapore but still an eye opening and interesting series of stories to those who only saw Crazy Rich Asians.

A brilliant showcase of everyday life in Singapore
ronypatra27 June 2020
For far too long, the world outside has been treated to the dazzling and prosperous portrayal of Singapore as a socio-economic utopia. Ler Jiyuan, however, creates a series that shines light on the many unnamed migrants who fight their ordinary circumstances and live life even while keeping the wheels of the Singaporean economy turning. Reminiscent of Kryszstof Kieslowski's epic series Dekalog, Invisible Stories shines with its various portrayals and solid performances from the entire cast.
Bizarre stories that show a different side of Singapore

This is a collection of vignettes that show the side of everyday life in Singapore. Some of them are totally incomprehensible and really need to be fleshed out more for a global audience so that they are not buried in nuance. By not doing so, the message and point of each vignette is totally lost. That defeats the purpose of the series and gives it a low rating. The series has potential but it certainly has not been fully realized! Pity it's missed the mark!
