Saw this at the London Gay and Lesbian film festival, and not knowing a huge amount about Gilbert and George (just surface info), I found this to be a really great look into their lives and their work. A fabulous couple who made me laugh out loud a lot during the course of 100 or so minutes. My interpretation of them is that life doesn't have to be oh so arty farty serious but this is it, freedom of expression and the ability to detect irony and humour in the things they do.Anyway, Gilbert and George you can come to dinner anytime :) The director spent about 17 years shooting all the footage, and he stayed behind for a Q & A session after the film. I was very impressed with how he put everything together and his perseverance over such a long time to complete such a wonderful project, hats off to him. Its great when directors interact with the audience and he answered peoples questions thoughtfully and in-depth.
Highly recommend this film, and hopefully it will be out on DVD later on.
