- James Coburn was said to be the perfect tough guy for action, westerns, and war films. His lanky frame, mischievous grin, and rough but cool demeanor on the screen earned him major roles in classic blockbusters. It includes The Magnificent Seven (1960), The Great Escape (1963), and Cross of Iron (1977). One of the main highlights of his career is winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 1977 drama flick Affliction. James Coburn was the son of an automobile repair shop owner. This probably influenced his lifelong passion for race cars. His enviable collection includes the Mustang GT used in the classic film Bullitt. He also owned several Ferraris that include the 13th of only 56 ever made Ferrari 250 GT Spyder California. A straightforward biopic of James Coburn, classic films' cool tough guy.
