Awesome continuation.

Vigil is in real danger, DCI Silva faces brick wall after brick wall in her quest for the truth.

I wondered if the sheer quality and intensity of the first episode would continue, and for me, the second almost hits the same heights, it's breathless, relentless, so good it's almost dizzying.

The story is just awesome, but it's the scenario itself, there is so much going on, but at no point does it go off track, it's cohesive and flows well. We are slowly being given the background pieces of Silva's life.

I am blown away by the acting, it's the best of Suranne Jones I reckon. Everyone here is playing their part fabulously.

Stunning location filming, this looks absolutely awesome, glorious views.

I'm hooked and gripped, 9/10.

A wonderful continuation from Episode 1

The tensions are rising between the police and the navy, and I'm long that we have gotten more of Silva's backstory.

Very intriguing and loving the twists we received this episode.

Cannot wait to find out what happened to (spoiler) at the end, and who attacked (spoiler).

Warning: Spoilers
So who murdered Craig Burke?

It cannot be Executive Officer, Cdr. Mark Prentice. He is so obviously the bad guy, he even locked up Silva.

Only for it turned out to be him. He confessed but Silva discovered another cause of death regarding Burke.

At least Vigil justifies the six part length of the serial. This is how a thriller should work, instead of dragging things out in slow motion.

I also liked how Newsome and Prentice's mutual loathing came to the fore. Prentice only came on board because Newsome as captain has messed up too much.

There was also Silva's backstory where after an accident she had a choice to make. Save her daughter or her husband from drowning. That might foreshadow something that will occur later on.

Compelling, except for this...

Great episode, very compelling, but one thing. At the end of the episode, DS Kirsten Longacre performs a lifesaving CPR attempt on Jade. She does it for a literal count of 5 twice and gives up immediately as if she is either exhausted, or as if she has worked at resuscitating for some time. I was not...it was like 10 seconds. This is the most inaccurate example of CPR I've ever seen depicted on screen. I have personally performed CPR for 15 minutes straight on an ambulance before it was called a DOA. C'mon.

What an episode, I don't think I enjoyed it as much as episode, for it seemed to fill me with existential dread but only for as long as the programme lasted, which was very weird indeed, a very well made programme therefore, well done to them!

[7.9] Start a correct CPR or don't start at all

Episode 2: A good episode, the acting stands out, the filming is gorgeous, the thrill factor so-so; just that the DCI is slowly getting on my nerves. Damaged, professional, but unlikable. Many unrealistic situations happening in the sub.

After already 2 episodes, it already shows signs of dragging.

Warning: Spoilers
A little more compelling, dialect and sound still an issue. It's like the standard thing now, crack the supposed guilty egg only to find information that leads somewhere else.
